New rims on, Carbon wing on

Post by Astron_Boy »

Wing is slightly longer in design over the factory I found, so annoyingly you can see the original marking of the factory spoiler, oh well.

pictures add about 100% better look and hides the dents and scrapes, but it's slowly getting there.

The design of the wing is meant to be an exact gpvr, but I find it to be ever so slightly different, and that's a good thing :D

did you get the wing off tenji? because mine wasnt the same as a gpvr one aswell... the two outer finblades extended longer then the oem and it was more flush to the boot ends whilst the gpvr wings sat in a couple of mm's... yours looks really good

and i thought the ssr were a bit bland before, but seeing them on your car changed my mind :D

Yeah, got the wing, boot and bonnet.

Sadly my wing has a few inconsistencies, will have to look into that.

And found out theyre not SSRs, but replicas. Still look great though, soon as I put one on and dropped the car. YEAH!

Actually, they are no sideskirts. Some models didnt have sideskirts fitted. If you took off your sideskirts, thats what it would look like.

I'll be honest I'm loving the facelift front with standard sides.

Anyone want some veilside skirts?

Yeah, its like an optical illusion, the curvature and profile of the sides make it look like they were sideskirts...definitely had me fooled

I think there is factory side skirts on there as there is end caps on at the start after the front wheels.
if there was no skirts it would not have the caps on.

yehp, an fto without sideskirts looks incomplete, its just that factory fitted sideskirts are fitted really well.

They are stone guards. Totally separate to the "skirts".

I'm actually really confused as to what you guys are talking about in regards to these "skirts" though...

    Agreed.

This is what confuses me. Are you saying that FTO'sdid in fact have a factory side skirt option? I've never seen it. Pics?

sure as hell looks like there are sideskirts on... on the first pic, you can see near the rear wheel where theres a line where the skirt is fitted on the rear passenger side quarter panel.. no sideskirts look flatter than that.

    check again astron boy

Okay I think we are totally confusing the issue lol.

My car's exterior is total factory stock.

Whether you want to call the strip below the door a "sideskirt" or not is up to you. Personally I don't call it a side skirt (even though it's detachable from the main shell and it probably technically is) basically because it's factory, not aftermarket.

I've never seen a stock FTO with any other sort of "sideskirt" from the factory, nor I have I seen one without those that are present on mine and Astron_Boy's cars. Imagine how ridiculous it would look lol.

So yea, I'm not sure what dstocks was talking about when he said

    ^^
some models dont come with that detatchable peice of plastic we call sideskirts, or what you call ''factory xxxx''

for example bens car has no sideskirts, it looks like it does though. the factory body under the door (without sideskirts) is the same shape BUT is shorter in hieght and flat. where as the sideskirts are longer hieght-wise and bulge out 50mm

if your feeling adventurous one day take off your sideskirt and compare it. they look preety much the same

dan its just like saying the front bumper isnt called what it is because its factory. weather its a aftermarket sideskirt or factory sideskirt... its the same thing
