Racing Wings?

Post by -Nighthawk- »

Looking at installing a carbon fibre wing for the FTO, I've always loved them for some reason but due to the shape of the FTO a lot of them just don't work.

If people have any pictures of their cars with one please provide the picture and what type of wing it is, that would be great :)

cheers

yea you wont find many pics with drift wings on the back best bet would be where ever your buying it from take your car and test fit it see what it looks like dont buy off the net cause you might not like how it looks on the car well good luck

I'm after something a tad higher than that and not as wide, but yes it's extremely hard to find the perfect spoiler :P

Oi I have a veilside spoiler ( came with the car ) nar drift spoilers look dicky unless there designed for the car or you put it in a wind tunnal and adjust for the right up/down force to improve the car even more so on fwd cars just looks ricey prove it improves the car and ill retract my comment but spoilers are style

Same thing can be said about the veilside spoilers though, they don't improve anything and in my opinion look the worst of the bunch.

I'm only getting it for aesthetics, it's hard to find the perfect wing but I'm slowly getting there. The spoiler that storm posted is the closest so far, just a bit too low and wide.

Last resort is the Version R wing, as that looks nice :)

somewhat agree with you on the gt wings. hate the vielside wings though

at high speeds (100km/h) you need down force for the rear, it was evident when i went from the gpvr wing to no wing at all. the rear end was just a tad more unstable. im sure aza can vouch for this aswell

a purely street driven car with a gt wing is absolute rice.

but gt wing on street and track driven car with adjustable sideplates and has canards or a splitter for front end downforce, is fine by me

but on an fto pushing 110kw atw? really?

I do agree with J.
The FTO even being fwd needs down force at the back at high speeds ( and yes I am talking track time/speed )
It tends to step out and dance around without a wing on trust me I have tested it on the track.
It's not fun hitting turn onw at wakefield park at 170 and feel the back ent wanting to overtake you, and yes I know how to take that turn so I did not stuff up
It's also good having more down force on the back when breaking from high speeds as it pushes the ass down just right to hold it in place.

This is why I have moved to a wing that I can change the down force for track time.
On the street it's just for show nothing more.
