Dude, badluck ay That sucks.. did they just walk out without looking? What did the undercover cop say?
Thats the bad thing about owning a sports car, apparently cause we have a nice car, everythings our fault. -.-
Not even gonna get started on loans, but if you do venture down that track, make sure you can do extra payments and get rid of it ASAP. Thats what I did with my FTO & am currently doing with my RX8

Re: Lawso's project thread
Again been a while since an update.
recently have purcahsed a suzuki swift as a runabout whist the FTO gets a rest. its been playing up more, an di feel like every time i drive it, its getting damaged. this has been confirmed by a look over from pulse racing. i hvae a list here, to fix everything + some mods. mind you not everything needs to be done on this list to get the car mechanically perfect.
here we go.
Front machine brake rotor $68
or Replacement $250 pair
Front Pads $135 pair Labour $130
Rear main Oil Seal (gearbox) $50
Clutch $750-$850 Labour $650-$850
Rocker Cover Gaskets $? Labour $250-$300
Check Tappets $130
Power Steering rack leak $? Labour $185
Major service incl. all fluids $1300-$1500 Labour incl.
water pump $150
Tie rod ends x2 $300 Labour $250
Wheel allignment $95
coilovers x4 $1300
shock absorbers x4 $1300 Labour $300
Shifter bracket (fork?) $200 Labour $65
earth cable off battery @ $10 per metre.
the shocks are fuxed, the selector bracket/fork is fuxed, power steering is leaking and if fuxed.
did have a conversation about lowering the car if the shocks were going to be replaced, and it ends up costing about the same amount for the amount i want the car lowered, and if the gearbox is out getting the shifter bracket/fork replaced, the option is there to get the clutch done as well.
all together its about $8000, give or take about a grand at worst, at absolute worst. advantage is the car will be brand new mecahnically, and this does include mods, such as lowering, and installing the brembos i have. a few things can be skipped like checking tappets, and pads and rotors. on the downside, its the cost of an fto.
so i have a few things to consider in the coming weeks. do i go with an engine conversion now (4g63) and get it all done now, rather than having to spend money on the current motor, do i keep this car, wreck it and save for another fto, or do i spend some serious coin, get this car back to being almost brand new and enjoying it untill i save enough money for a 4g63 conversion in the future, sell this motor and gearbox etc.
at the moment, considering spending all this coin. give me a week i'll probably be thinking something different.
any input would be greatly appreciated, but knoing you guys you'll say toss it and wait for another.
another chapter of lawso's fto has come to a close....

Clutch fork? If so, I was right ... Gimme a cookie...lawsochap wrote:

I say wait for Dwayne to do up his next revived FTO .. And take one of them.. At least you know it will be OK...
Or use this car as your learning project... And fix her up as you learn mechanic's ...
But I sure as hell would not pour any more cash into your car... Cut the loss while it is not tooooo expensive...
I just had to add it ......

Most I reckon. Crazy!
2x tie rod 50bucks and an hour labour is being generous.
