i've heard good things about Mobil-1 and Castrol Magnatec, but never heard about their successes on FTO engines though'... I tend to service my car with Mobil-1 oil though', as they are pretty much the best money can get (without going into exotic stuff like Elf etc)

Do youself a favour and get Motul Turbolight Oil. Its the ultimate, dont use it for gearbox fluid though.

The quality of oil you can use really depends on how often you replace it. If you are replacing it every 5000km, like I am because of my warranty requirements, then you can probably even use K-Mart oil 8O

If you run your car for longer distances, say 5000-10000 km, then definitely use higher grades.

The best oils can last you up to 15000 km before you should really change them.
