k&N appollo is a UNIVERSAL fitting cold air kit.

If you've got a GPX then its an eazsy fitting. If you've got a MAF sensor then you need to find a way to connect it without bloacking any of the honeycomb end. K&N do make an oval filter, but then you would have to fabricate your own intakes.

Do you mean a K&N pod filter or the K&N panel filter replacement?

I can help you out with a MAF adaptor if your going for a pod on a GR.

GR = Have MAF Sensors.
GPX = Don't

From what i've read its fairly good, K&N filters are decent. I'd rather have an ARC box, but thats just not many people have them and they look lovely.

Bennoz's install is how you want to do it, find some samco hose and connect between the apollo end and your MAF sensor with an adapter.

I have read something about cone filters cause vortex like air movement and so can screw with MAF sensors, this can be rectified by using a cylinder style forced intake like this one, to keep the air moving straight throught the sensor.

http://www.modyourcar.com.au/simota-car ... lter-p8826 no idea how good it is though.

Sorry I didn't mention I've got a gpx, so I don't have a MAF sensor, would that make it eaiser to install?.

Edit:what cai seem to work best for Ftos anyway?

with the k&n appolo's not sure if the single cold air feed will do, when i had a single cold air feed that i bought from autobarn for my cai, it wasn't enough sucking power, but when i added a 2nd one under the box, it was a big improvement in throttle but do some experimenting, i might be wrong and the single cold air feed from the apollo's might be good enough. I have the uas intake and uni filter fiy in my setup with a custom box with 2 cold air feed pipes.

It depends,if you are using a normal pod filter then you need to fabricate a box and some piping to make it a cai.It will work out cheaper if

you do this look in the diy section.If you cant be f'cked like me then id just buy the k&n apollo.

but for a cai system, i strongly believe from my experience that a single 76mm front pipe is not enough. i definitely knew the car was underpowered on the bonfire cruise and my revmatching just was not right but when i added the 2nd pipe, everything was good!

But as for the k&n apollo, it is already enclosed, but has only one front pipe, but if you feel that it is not restrictive then thats good. Might depend what path the front pipe uses. i use the stock front pipe path but it ends on the fog light hole so there is about 2 ish bends but you can let it go straight down then to the front. You just gotta experiment with it.

Personally I would not buy the apollo. I totally agree with goldwayne.

but then if one would really want the apollo, might be best to not use a front pipe and just lead the whole filter to a good position that it gets cold air but again, no experience on it, but im just theoryrizing

Couldn't you just get a 'Y' shaped split and feed two pipes into the one before the front of the apollo. Have them either side of the car and then it would be enough air.

Increased pressure too when it changed to 1 pipe and could be beneficial.

that might work but you might need to get a 3" to dual 3" pipe fabricated or some form of improvisation to make that possible. would like to know how that goes though.

All this sounds great, but im not that great at making things, do i have the time.. not really. I would like to do it myself but not sure how i would turn out, and i dont really have the cash to throw at things that might not work.

If anyone knows mabye a proformance shop that could custom build me a cai that would be good, i KNOW this will be the most expensive way to do this, if i can even get it done that way but it will be good to look into it.

Thanks for the help
