Hey,

Good to see that someone from Tassie actually reads these forums. :D

I have been tied up a bit lately with work and Uni but am definately keen to go for a weekend drive after the end of financial year.

Was thinking about going up the West Coast..........

Anyone interested?

Also, check out the Tassie section of http://www.boostcruising.com as there are a fair few people frequenting the forums there tehse days as well.

Cheers

Howdy! Bumping an old topic haha, but I'm from Launnie with an FTO -- except I'm trying to sell her so I can "upgrade"

Bit far for me to go for fuel I am afraid.....

For some strange reason I prefer to pay $1.40 for BP Ultimate at BP down here in Kingston. My wife hassles me constantly about how much extra it costs.

Can you get any low lead racing fuel? :-)

Not that I have touched the engine that much at this stage but it would nice to know that I can source some.

Not sure about everyone else but I get Autocraft to do all the work on my car.

Bodykits, locally.......hmmmm......dunno........I had my last lot of panel beating done when I was living in QLD.

CarArtist (in Launnie) do custom bodykits :) I think there's a similar place down south!

Edit: I also think JDS imports or something can get some in, JDS-auto? hmm something like that, can't remember at the moment sorry :(

FTO_Wannabe (Shavaun) and myself would be up for meeting you guys if you want to organise your own cruise, or jump in on one of mine one day!

I'm with Breza - Autocraft have done a top job on Shavaun's FTO to date, and they also put a rear sway bar on my Prelude :-)

BTW, SilverFluids - gimme a ride in your GTO sometime when you get it! I've always loved them.

Sure thing :) I'll come on a Tassie FTO/mitsubishi cruise with her and give you a ride ;)

Black FTO at Autocraft

Chris, was that your car at Autocraft on Thursday?

Brad (the guy from Autocraft) said you have some air conditioning issues that could be quite expensive.

Autoraft are fixing up some issues that Specialist Car Centre caused. I had to get a new rocker cover gasket, and it has leaks again!

I think there is another member who also goes to Autocraft and Brad said that Rocker Cover Gaskets could be a serial problem for most FTO's.

Yep,

Over the last 6 months the FTO has been to Autocraft 3x more than it has been to the servo for fuel.

Yep, still have air con issues (after being initially solved....), cost doesn't worry me, just want it fixed so I can get on with some other plans I have without having aircon guys ripping it apart every week. (ie I am shopping for some new brakes and it could seriously do with a respray)

The labour is under warranty from an air-con re-gas back in November so I have only paid $180 thus far.

Worst case scenario is the condenser is shot after all, it should be under $1k for a new one.

FTO's have lots of common issues (nothing major), I have nearly fixed them all now after having the car for 5 years. Let me know if you would like a list. :-)

Cheers

Chris
