EOI: FTO Black 1996 GPX Manual
Hi guys, Just thought i'd put my car up as i've been contemplating getting a bigger car, for a bigger person (100kg, 175cms,etc) such as myself.
Well here are the specs:
-Black
-Manual
-1996 GPX
-65,XXX
-HIDs
-Alarm
-AFC?
-12months rego
And everything else is pretty much standard.
First Australian owner, also my first car. Bought it from a dealership with 2 yrs warranty.
Purchased it early March, and since then i've only removed/change badges, installed an alarm, had a new clutch put in which i've got the reciept.
The Cons:
Roof Rust, few minor scratches, cracked console, bit of wear and tear on drivers side.
Location:
NSW - Sydney - Burwood area.
Price: $13,500 NEG
Reasons for sale:
I find it abit hard to get in and out sometimes so i need a bigger car and i've been thinking of getting a cheaper car aswell as a bike.
Pics:
Also may be looking for trades with any suitable car that'll get me places
EDIT: Sorry forgot to add pictures.

Can I ask where you bought it from?
I'm looking for a black manual GPX as well... except I want one without any rust. I hear the 95-96 models are prone to rust.

94-97. Mainly sunroof's but ones without sometimes aswell. Not all of them have the problem, mines a 94 and going strong .
If you do buy one, take your roof lining out and theres glue inbetween the roof rails and the roof, it holds moisture = rust, so just take it out and your all sweet...

Hi there, thanks for the tip! :0)
Did you import yours or buy from a dealer?
I keep hearing dodgy things about the Sydney dealers. The k's on the ones advertised all seem very low for the year model, and the odometers seem like they must have been tampered with. (won't name names but ive seen a certain dealer mentioned all over the net for doing this :0)
Do you think its best to buy privately with these sort of cars or import direct from japan so you have more of an idea of what you're getting?

Well, dealers can be dodgy, but so can private sales. So best way is to learn the car, grab someone that knows cars, get it checked by a mechanic (or someone that knows a little about cars) and you will soon know if they are genuine. a lot of guys on the forums can tell just buy looking at pictures..
If you find a car you like, chuck up a link somewhere on the forums and ask your opinion, if you wait a week or so someone should be able to give you a hand looking at it .
The car above to me looks like its in very good condition, even though it is in the higher end price-range, in my personal opinon, I have bought 3 FTO's (still own 2) and your definitly better saving that little bit extra and paying abit more for the better condition / lower km's.
Sorry for the offtopic posts aznfto, mods could you please move my last post and cruzboys into another thread for us,
Cheers,
Kustom_FTO

nah its fine, was thinking this thread was heading towards dying anyways.
i bought this car from a dealer and have been meaning to get the roof rust fixed, just that i cant bother doing it myself.
and i bought my car from a dealership, which they've been fixing the bubbling just by buffering it/ and getting it repainted, but it starts to bubble again, doesnt cost me nothing, cept time... lols.
