Which clutch?

Post by Dras »

Hi guys.

I am looking at turbo charging my GR with an aim around 150KW at the wheels.

I have decided that I will do a manual conversion before I start. I will be going to Engine Specialist Warehouse on Saturday to look at a possible donor. Thanks again AZA for letting me drive yours.

The question is which clutch should I be looking at to handle this. The car is a daily drive so I want the lightest possible one that will last. So far I have been looking at the MBK-7277HD and the MBK-7277SO, or would I be better off looking at EVO III clutches?

Any thoughts?

The MBK-7277HD is the way to go. Had that one in with the nos & was pumping out around that kw figure atw.

Still nice & light to use, but never slipped.

Great, that is what I was hoping to hear.

Pretty ordinary that Exedy don't publish recommended max torque and power figures for their clutches.
