Basically its a mechanical unit that locks the wheels so that they spin at the same speed as opposed to a non lsd which sees power loss to an opposing wheel depending on which way you turn.
it's a good thing.

Re: LSD?
I prefer the Cousin Vinny explaination: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=why-L_bJAJA-E even though i'm not entirely sure it's correct.... it gives you the right idea.

Re: LSD?
No LSD is not similar to traction control. The traction control cuts power to stop the wheels from spinning (done via fuel) the LSD keeps all power going and pushes it out to both wheels.gpx000 wrote:so its similar to traction control?

Hmmm.... odd. Search YouTube for "Cousin Vinny Expert Witness 3" and it'll pop up.gpx000 wrote:so its similar to traction control?

Yeah, the LSD seems to only be worth the $ if you're got some good power figures, or you're really looking for that extra few fractions of a second.

Re: LSD?
oh alright, now i understand.
are they easy to install and find for a gpx? or are they mostly all the same?
and another quick question, how much are they? just so i know what to buy first. is it worth it getting a haltech or LSD first?

Re: LSD?
Unless you are doing an engine swap, the interceptor will be just fine. I have one on my FTO and its brilliant. LSD will give you much better cornering. Id go for the Haltech first though. I picked up a cusco LSD for Bennoz for around $400 (+ postage from Japan) some time ago. They arent really common, so if you see one up for grabs, youll need to move fairly quick.
