Updating bonnet for Gholdwayne.
I was looking at updating my bonnet for significantly less weight.
But I'm not really sure which one yet - I'm still trying to visualize and all.
I was leaning towards Carbon OEM but who knows what skeetfactor the others could put out...

Well if you are looking at CF run the chance to get pulled over unless you blend it in with paint on the roof.
It would also look a bit out of place as its the only CF on the car at this point.
I would go F/G and go with the blue paint

CHRISTIANITY: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Depends if you want to wait months and months or not.bduffman wrote:i thought we were already looking at making fiberglass stock hoods after the spoilers and that are made
I'm quite happy to spend a little more $$ on anything then having to wait a very long time for something. Saves me a headache

Re: Updating bonnet for Gholdwayne.
Well if I can get 10 members that want a F/G factory bonnet I can get them made up.
If you want to set a list going I can get prices.
A deposit will be taken for these ( into the club AC if it's ok with Ben ) that way we can get it going full steam.
Any way let me know what you want to do.
Oh and these can be sent out side of NSW
And we can get gass struts for them too.

Re: Updating bonnet for Gholdwayne.
Btw, is fiberglass lighter than CF?
I tried craig's and stef's AB style bonnet. Apparently stef's fiberglass seems noticeably lighter.
Not sure if there's anything to do with the bonnet hinge though.

Re: Updating bonnet for Gholdwayne.
Depends on the process of making them
If they use cloth or mat for the fiberglass one as the carbon on uses a cloth witch is lighter and stronger then mat
But fiberglass cloth and carbon cloth is basicly the same
Also depends if they hand lay it and how good they are at it
If they vacume mold them they will be lighter and stronger then hand layup
Not sure if it makes much diff if you use epoxi or poly resin but if there's excess resin then needed the part will be weeker
Im happy to donate my bonnet if you need it for molds
I've got the vented one in back yard ill just put that on

Forgot to add
Depends how many layers they use and the weight of the mat or cloth
Lighter the part more flexi it is the heavyer the stronger and ridged it is

Re: Updating bonnet for Gholdwayne.
I thought carbon fiber is the cloth one and fiber glass is like little strips of fiber and not a whole fiber cloth? (That's just based on fiber glass repair kits i've seen in auto stores)

I've always thought Fiberglass was just slightly heavier, I'd go with the fiberglass since it's less hassles from cops, it doesn't look aftermarket, CF you can spot a mile away.
