Thought I'd wack this up here as those of you who are turbo or are maybe looking to relocate their fuel filter might be interested..

This is by no means a blueprint or a how-to, more of a "look what you can do" :)

Any mod you do like this is going to be a custom job.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here we have a standard FTO fuel line, goes from fuel pump assembly, to fuel line under the car (that goes to the filter & engine)
It looks like a sealed 'use once' only hose....... but not true! Those fittings on the ends are invaluable, re-using them stops you from having to cut & chop the aluminium lines under the car & the exisitng fuel pump assembly fitting... which would be a massive hassle.

First step is to get an end into the vice:

On 2 x 45 degree angles, use a hack saw to cut through the swaged fitting:

Use a pair of plyers & screwdriver to lever off:

The factory fuel lines are glued on, so you cannot just pull them off, you need to cut them off:

And this is what you're left with:

After a quick clean up on the bench grinders wire wheel, you have a full FTO fuel fitting that can be inserted into any hose :)
Note, you must use a hose clamp with it seeing as you dont have the swaged fitting any more.

This is where the old fuel filter used to be. I've now put a new filter up under the rear of the car (see Bennoz Turbo FTO thread)
and this is simply a joiner from the line to the fuel rails nao :)

Here's the new line from the tank (pump assembly)

Great tip re the fittings :D

Being these are high pressure fuel lines though, would this be street legal?

Spent some time talking to the guys @ Pirtek where I bought all the hose about this, as you can imagine I wan't to stay as legal as possible lol.
The line is ADR approved high pressure line, suitable for use with fuel, the fittings are standard factory fittings ( :D ) the only question on legality
was where the lines are run. In the engine bay, no problem, it basically follows the old setup. The back end of the car might be a bit different.
I've had to run them in the inside of the chassis rail (so they have less chance of being punctured during an accident) and I've not run the lines
through any sheet steel holes (big no-no) but the pump & filter may location may be an issue. Up under the rear drivers quarter panel is technically
considered a crumple zone....

And I was very blasé about wandering round fuel with a smoke in my mouth... shoulda seem me refuel the mower! This could have been deadly!

Yeah I was thinking more of the hose clamps, sealing the hose to the fittings.
