POWER @ WHEEL

hi everyone,

i recently put the headers and cbe onto my fto plus e management.

its only 112 @ RE CUSTOM Dyno.

i just wondering what is a normal power kw @ wheel for FTO GPX running on the street as the modified above.

i would like to reach 120KW @ WHEEL, wts other mod that i need to get it done??

stock manual fto is about 100kws atw.

if you're still on stock 2.25" piping,
you can do 2.5" piping to whole exhaust system
and changed to high flow catalytic-converter 200 cells

for intake, change to pod intake + cold air intake mod

For reference, aza for his gpvr fto (lighter than gpx) to 137kws atw
with,
-port and polished
-port matched
-compression bumped up a little
-cold air intake + ram pipe
-de-cat / straight flow pipe
-haltech management tuned

A stock GPX (mivec) will get you 100kw ATW if in good condition. Ive currently got 133kw ATW. Ive done:

Air intake: UAS Induction Pipe and ARC Airbox
Extractors: RPW
Exhaust: Full 2.5 inch mandrel bent with High flow Magnatec cat and 2 triple flow mufflers (quad tips)
ECU: Haltech Interceptor Premium - tuned for 98 RON fuel

I have built a fully insulated box around the Airbox to keep it cool when the engine is hot and ive also done a full Cold Air Induction setup, but this wont effect the figures coming off the DYNO unless the engine is quite warm.

This is on my 99 Verison R Aero. Not sure if the ECU has something already done out of the box or not.

I did have a k&n filter and kakimoto catback but I am not sure which is2.5 or 2.25.

And I have port and polish the head. And using NGK iridium sparkplug

I recently find out the problem is when I click in to mivec, there is no much different compared to under mice point. And also I think the throttle cable appears problem coz when shift, the rev seems going up around 500rpm.

Would this effect the power? May effect the the throttle to reah 100% open?

And next mod would be fuel pump and extractor also de-cat.

Would this sort of mod can reach over 125kw @wheel coz I am running 112 atm by dyne dynamic.

125kw definitely achievable if you get a fine tune on the piggyback ecu after all the mods.
Aza picked up 17kws alone from the haltech engine management. (aza's figures proven from 2 different dynos)
Still it depends whether your tuner knows how to tune your emanage or not.

After you got the rpw/hurricane extractors, de-cat, 2.5" piping all round starting from extractor downpipe till end,
shouldn't be a problem to hit that figure.

Ohh, no idea on the throttle cable problem.

Power mods:

5. Haltech interceptor

I have 107.5 KW ATW dyno'ed from Unique Auto Sports in Seven Hills.

Mods done where:
1. UAS Whale Penis + Unifilter
2. Hurricane Headers + 200cp Cat + 2.5" Mandrel bent pipes + Varex muffler (Full exhaust system)

Pathetic isn't it and I don't even think a haltech would be worth it - apparently it was only running a little bit rich.

But looking at dwayne's, aza's, bushido's figures.. ,
haltech is good for at least 15kws.

Note that dwayne and bushido didn't even do port&polish, just the intake and exhaust.

When's the next dyno day

The only way to know how 'relative' your power figure is, is to compare with other cars on the same dyno on the same day. All it takes for a dyno to give you a better figure is to change the load value or the correction values. Doesn't take much and you wouldn't even know.

And the only way to know how much power you're really getting at the wheels is to calculate it at the strip. Real world acceleration doesn't lie. Dyno's do
