Re: Fuel Filter Wall of Shame
That's first filter from factory and it's just gone over 58k on the odometer. Mind you, shoulda seen the crap that came out with it when the fuel was draining from it, like a dark green coolant looking stuffaza013 wrote: how did your car still run .
Was having a small issue with power on accelerating which was fixed after the fuel filter change. However we also did reset the ECU which hadn't been done since I put back on my ARC Chamber. So not sure what helped that out. All that matters is it is fixed

Ha, have a gpr (which is supposed to be harder somehow I cant remember) and was pretty easy. Just loosen up the bracket and slide it down, found it easier than trying to take the whole bracket on. Bastar d is getting the nut back on!

We should import some japanese mechanics to work on our FTOs, i'm sure if every state put some funds together we could get one for each state to work on our FTOs, free of charge to us of course thoughTaz wrote:Just gotta have skinny JDM hands Not these giant tinny popping hands like most Aussies

Rubbish, tinny popping hands are the strongest!
I find, best technique is to remove the lines from it while its still bolted hard to the bracket. The remove the lot.
On the way back in, do the lines up first while you can still manipulate the filter, then bolt back to the bulk head.

I was taking the piss out of the cop on Aca, he made a lame ass excuse why a podfliter was illegal. "if you ran over someone and their head hit that, it would cause serious harm."

Re: Fuel Filter Wall of Shame
When police and safety inspecters look at a vehicle, most of the safety components are assessed from a front on perspective. Because that is the most likely fail point if you change any components such as body kits, bonnets and engine modifications. They like to reduce the amount of sh*t that goes flying from the front to the rear of the vehicle in a head-on as well as the amount of damage that something could potentially do to someone if you hit them head-on. Not to mention the cars ability to resist any frontal impacts.
Which brings me to the point of a seam or pod filter being of no direct concern to hitting anyone or a head-on collision. The chances of someone going UNDER AND UP into your engine bay is as likely as and I do quote

If they did then i'm sure a seam and pod filter is the least of their problemTaz wrote:about as much chance as getting beheaded by a rogue carbon bonnet
