REVIEW: Vic Mini Meet 30/5

Post by GPXXX »

Despite the gloomy Melburnian winter, it was yet another success story... as always! :D

It was great to catch up with the regulars again, and two big thumbs up to the new members who dropped by. It was fantastic to meet you all and we hope everybody had a decent feed, a good chit-chat with one another and in general a great time.

also big big thanks to our sponsor Leslie and the Genesis Racing crew for letting us use their barbie and workshop for the event. :D

We hope to meet with you all again soon after the Mallacoota event. Any feedback about today's mini-meet will be much appreciated and if you have any suggestions to make it better in the future, let's hear it...

Meanwhile, if you have any pics from the meet feel free to share it with everyone... ;)

As always Mikey thanks for organising it.

My thoughts...

The turn out was good and it's always great to see newbies, but I think the other get togethers have worked better as we did things.

To me, the most successful events included three things:
1) Food :D
2) Socialising
3) An event / something to do

Today number 3 was missing and just standing in a work shop's car park was a little lifeless. In the past we've done things like photo shoots, cruises, cafe, throwing a footy thingy in the park etc. Perhaps we could have gone on a little cruise or to a pool hall or bowling or a movie or someone show us how to do stuff with their car or something.

Keep up the good work Mikey, your efforts are greatly appreciated.

...just my 3 cents

Thanks for the day Mike :)

Have to say even living in a suburb like Box Hill which i consider to be the land of the FTOs i still hadnt seen as many as one place as I did today :D

It would have been great to have a mini cruise afterwards but i guess to many people had other commitments.
Doesnt matter, im looking forward to Mallacotta. :D

Thank god it didnt rain! :)

Thank you Mister Mikey.

yeah, it was nice to meet a lot of you guys for the first time... Don't tihink, i'll be able to come for the malacoota cruise, or even a little meet up before hand, but we'll see...

Was still fun to see all the cars, since i've only had my FTO for a week, I was a real sticky beek, checking out everyones fto, thinking of how I should go about mine.

I'll agree with Ruchi though, would've been fun, if had of got no. 3 done... was still fun though...

Good turn out guys, hope all of you come to the cruise next time as well.

Was a bit worried eating Mikey's BBQ coz of some of the stories I've heard, but turned out all good.

Nice to catch up with all the oldies and some of the newbies. missed toni though, hope her car is running soon. and not that I'm complaining but there must be other female fto drivers out there! the boys arn't 'that' scary. :D

No pics this time, but there will be heaps coming from next weekend.

perhaps in a new thread, so we can stop hijacking this one, can you explain what benefits there are to us with the Genesis sponship deal and likewise with JR Auto (the other VIC company listed as a sponsor).
