Starting a car after long sit in storage

Post by spetz »

Hi guys,

Can someone tell me what I should do before starting a car after it has been sitting in storage for about 2-3 years?

So far I assume changing oil and filter before starting it, other than that is there anything?
The motor is freshly built.

Flush the coolant system. Get a hose & jam it in the radiator & thermostat housing, flush out what you can, refill with coolant.

I'd put a new fuel filter in & get some new fuel into the tank.

Your battery may need a charge too. Also check tyre pressures before going for a happy lap.

Bennoz, the coolant flush should be before I start it?

It has new coolant and reconditioned radiator since the new motor which like I said only has about 2,000km on it
