2007 Liberty Spec B

Post by bushido »

Has anyone driven either the Liberty Spec B in either 3.0 or 2.5 GT guise? Considering one of these as my next car. Lovely interior, Macintosh audio, xenons, sunroof and decent in the twisties thanks to Bilstein dampers.

Mod-wise the 2.5 ends itself better but they are a few thousand more than the 3.0.

Friend of mine had the 2.5 B, was freakin impressive and pulled like hell.
Nice car, but apparently was a crud to work on.

my parents had the 2.5L turbo.

I would reccommend getting a manual but they had a tip and it was just no fun.

Exhaust was massively restrictive too i think there would be a lot of KW in getting a full one done up.

They had the full macintosh stereo, sounded great comes with a sub in the parcel tray. Leather seats were nice, absolutely dead silent inside and no road noise. Heaps of room even in the back.

I would reccomend them!

I have been reading that the exhaust piping goes from 2.25 in from the turbo to 2 in, then splits in 1.75 in before going into the mufflers as 2.25 in.

If I do get one it will defs be manual and one of the first things will be a turbo back exhaust and drop in panel filter + tune. =)

Isn't the Golf R better than the 32?

IMO the R32 MK1 is the better looking out of the 32's.

liberty is nice looking but not that great in twistys, very exp on fuel and not as quick as you think. Reapairs are common and exp as they are a c**t to work on oh and they sound like a big ol fart.

go the golf ;)

alright from the two libertys Ive seen in the last two days.

1. The 2.5GT is very nice. a little at low revs (0-2500rpm) but it massively pulls when boost kicks in. Playing with the SI drive makes it a little better with sharper throttle response and a nicer exhaust note in S# mode. Also sounds horn with the turboback exhaust. Kind of like a more refined rexxie burble.

2. The 3.0 I tried today was a little boring in comparison.

3. Checking out the golf tomorrow!

bought the golf! =) in black!

Couldnt resist the instant torque from its little motor and its so nimble. Feels much more expensive inside than the liberty and its so comfy!

At a steal too!

to read the owners manual and figure out what the various little buttons do. The short wheelbase is very very awesome. I love the leather seats! Perfect for winter since they heat your butt!

And some future mods... dump pipe, APR stage 1 tune to release some extra ponies.
