Alternator's died.........??

Post by JagerMarty »

Hey crew,
my sad news of the day is my GPX's alternator has died, confirmed by RACV. Don't know much about these, never had one go on me in the past - is this expensive / a big-deal to get fixed.
Do I need a replacement or can it be repaired, and can I expect to have it done in one day?
Any advice on this welcome,
cheers, Marty

Mine's seriously had it, down to 6 volts, so it's getting looked at today, can't even restart it. Hopefully I can have it reconditioned.
It just shat itself on one 25 min drive :(

I just got mine done. Brand new from Mitsubishi it cost about $400 plus $200 labour to fit it. Works perfect now but it's not cheap for an alternator!

you'd think an alternator from a Magna wreck in your local yard would be usable hey? afterall, they are all dereived form the same 6A engine family anyway... hmmm...
