FA25LY - far too sly

Post by bass_twitch »

I am the proud owner of a 1994 FTO GPX.

I purchased the car in March/April 2010. Got it from original aussie importers, so I am the second aussie owner of this beast.

It came with:
- HKS Kansai Front Bar
- 15" Aftermarket wheels
- Rubbish aftermarket stereo system.
- Small racing aftermarket momo steering wheel.
Other than that it was stock as a rock.
Image

I have since then learned much about these beasts, and have done the following to my ride: (from what I remember, in no particular order).

- Sanded and cleaned up the headlights

- Replaced the broken indicator stalk

- Upgraded spark plugs and leads (iridiums and 2.0mm magnecors).
Image

- Painted calipers blue
Image

- Painted the engine cover.
Image

- Replaced fuel filter
Image

- Installed a GPvR rear strut brace, and a Cusco front strut brace.

- Upgraded the air intake to UAS piping and 4" K&N pod. (for the serious MIVEC whooosh!)
Image

- Replaced 15" mags with new 17" aftermarket mags.
Image
Image

- Upgraded to Falken FK452 tires.

- Reco-d the steering rack, replaced the steering column, replaced 3 droplinks.
Image

- Installed 8000k HIDs (twice).
Image

- Installed white LEDs in the interior lighting.

- Replaced the blown heater core.
Image

- 2.5" Catback exhaust system with no resonators and a sports muffler (sounds amazing!)
Image

- Tinted vinyl on rear lights
Image

- Replaced the sound system with:
- - Rockford Power 6x9s in the back
- - Pioneer Head deck
- - Kenwood 6.5"s in the front

- RPW extractors
Image
Image
Image

- Smoked side indicators
Image

- Blue slam panel
Image

- Leather(ette?) Seats

Repaired stereo surround by stickerbombing it:

Replaced old busted shocks and springs with KYB Excel Gs and Lovell 'Low' Springs

Thanks man,
Nah pretty sure they are rare as hens teeth if I remember correctly. (unless you go straight from Japan)
There are similar style ones around that you can get though.

Haha nah it seems pretty safe, he's done it a couple times now and it all seems fine. (although it always done when I'm not home).

Oh and for the record: extractors = WIN!!!
I looove them, it's deeper, smoother, and has the much needed bottom range pickup :)
