Kates GR Worklog 1994 Black
1994 Mitsubishi FTO GR Tiptronic
Well its been about 11 months work, but im starting to get Kates GR really shmick and clean. Below is my worklog
Ill start the worklog with the work that i've done breathing life back into it.
1. Put actual bolts to hold the rear seat in and actually tightened the seat belt bolts as they were in one thread which J, the ABSOLUTE f**king TWAT ASSHOLE WANKER thought we'd not need.
2. Got a whole set of boot interior linings and fixed them all with the plastic grommets.
3. Got all the exhaust holes welded up -Decat -Standard Muffler installed (Previous Apexi N1 sounded like absolute sh*t on the standard system)
4. Tightened up the auto lever so you didnt have to move the whole unit down to select gears, just the button now as it should be.
5. Also removed the black ripped and screwed piece of black plastic that slides with the lever as it kept jamming up.
6. Got some nuts as the taillights were held in with i think it was one each...
7. Raised the idle think it was idling at near 300rpm!
8. Painted all the pink stuff that we'd stenciled back black.
9. Sikaflexed the weather strips back up.
10. Upholstery cleaned the roof up real good no greasy prints etc.
11. Fixed clicking noise that occured when swapping between recirc and outside air.
12. Secured the foot rest
13. Removed the cover off the climate control unit as it was scratched to shithouse.
14. Put in a whole new bootlight unit, courtesy of Dstocks, along with White Led.
15. Replaced Output Sensor as it was randomly clunking into 3rd and throwing out errors, resulted in much smoother changing gears.
16. Cleaned the stepper motor and plug on the maf.
17. Tightened the accelerator cable as there was a major slack in it.
18. Replaced snapped front swaybar with another standard unit courtesy of dstocks, however a fresh set of polyurethane bushes were installed with it.
19. Put some cleaner GPX rims on her, along with decent tread.
20. Swapped out the dead Aircon compressor with a second hand one, courtesy of Bennoz, Icy cold aircon now! Much needed in a black FTO.
21. New Poly chassis bushes and bushes for swaybar links on the rear (So much quieter in the rear end now)
22. Regrounded the headunit
23. Drilled multiple holes in the bottom of the taillights so no moisture can build up (temporary fix, chasing another set of taillights)
Recent Engine Servicing
1. Changed all 6 sparkplugs
2. Put a new thermostat and heavy duty coolant in
3. Installed a fresh cheapie pod filter (SCA brand)
4. Got a 4 wheel alignment done on it as the rears were still aligned for the SSR's
5. Replaced fuel filter
6. 10w Penrite Semi Syntheic Oil + Filter
Audio ive installed
Just cheap stuff to give it okay sound, at one stage we only had one speaker LOL.

Re: Please delete this thread
I didn't do that much to the car at all really, just got the rust in the roof cut out and re-welded / sprayed.

Re: Kates GR Worklog 1994 Black
Probably this week ill be spraypainting under the arches black after a quick sanding of where the SSR's wore about the paint away and caused rust.
While im there I might as well paint the calipers, but i dont know what colour to go.
And no pink haha.

I always like silver/chrome calipers, something different then the red/orange that everyone sports. Although orange does look mean on a black car...

Re: Kates GR Worklog 1994 Black
What sort of paint should i use under the wheel arches?
I was at Supercheap the other day and i saw sound deadening paint. Would that be hard or sticky and messy?
And I think either Blue or Red for the calipers, thoughts?

I went blue on my RX-8 and they look great, for the one fact that everyone goes either red or yellow lol.

Re: Kates GR Worklog 1994 Black
Im going to use duplicolor metal cast anodized paint resistant to close to 300deg c.
Heres a pic of a caliper done in the same red.
