I seriously doubt you would. Think about staff costs, setup time between runs, phenomenal insurance rates for dynos, the amount of electricity they consume, cost of keeping it up to date and everyone wanting runs on the weekend. Combine all this with all the other dynos around (there are at least 2 I know of within walking distance from where I work) and it sounds like a hard sell to me.silverGPX wrote:Imagine how much money youd make with $50 dyno runs. Yep, you also forgot the leasing costs for the building and soundproofing to keep the neighbours at bay! Not a cheap exercise!

By slushbox, do you mean tip box? or the heavy chinese takeaway box in the backseat filled with fecal matter?

I was actually wondering that, what the price difference between a 6a12 swap and a 6a13 swap would be...
Is it a pretty straight fit?

Re: Need help on my poor 86kw FTO......
My engine may be for sale in a years time or so.
Fully rebuilt, balanced, ported heads, ported intake runners, 65mm TB, bored plenum, ACL bearings, will come with RPW extractors and most likely e-manage with ignition/injector harness tuned for the motor. It runs on an FSE FPR which will most likely not come with the motor.
So far only has 1,000km on it and hasn't been tuned yet. I suspect I will put a few thousand more km on it (maybe another 10K at the most)

Depends what people will offer for it.
No dyno yet but it will be next year when I register the car again.
I would also need your old 6A12 MIVEC in return too

Re: Need help on my poor 86kw FTO......
It isn't certain that it will be for sale.
If I decide it isn't fast enough or I need power I'll start building another engine and sell this one but this cannot start for another year at the least

Not quite stock - UAS induction kit and engine pipes - but yes, 98 none the less.gpx000 wrote:well i bought the car off AJ and he showed a dyno reading and i think it was around 100kw? or 98 not too sure but the car is completely stock
kw's is just a number. Do you think your car is slow? probably not, so don't worry about the number. Upgrading brakes, suspension and your skills as a wheel man can improve you're point to point time more than a few kw's will and it'll probably cost less. If you just want to go fast in a straight line...you've bought the wrong car.

true, I really love FTO's handling. Well, i'll get my conversion done and search for a newer engine when I get back next year.AJ wrote:Not quite stock - UAS induction kit and engine pipes - but yes, 98 none the less.gpx000 wrote:well i bought the car off AJ and he showed a dyno reading and i think it was around 100kw? or 98 not too sure but the car is completely stock
