Its only a small little v6..I always thought it would be about the same weight as a 4cyl plus a turbo. And all the pipe work for them...

It is pretty small but I am sure it's not too light.
To give you an idea a B series bare block weighs about 29kg.
A complete dry engine is about 140kg.
So, I assume that our 6A12 should weight closer to 200kg

But more accurate figures would be nice.
I am not sure that the turbo adds and/or makes up for the weight of the V6, but would come close I guess

Well there's all the intercooler stuff too... Man those are light...

Some lancer guys are almost going the way of the b16..putting mivec 1.6l heads on bored 1.9l blocks and you get a mivec 1.9l 4cyl.. very high revving engine. Some guys have got their cars into the 13's if iirc / flat 14's..something like that.

6A12 wont weight that much. I've lifted one into the boot of a car before.

Bennoz, was that a complete motor?
I've lifted my bare block and it wasn't light, nor as heavy as I thought. Seemed like 40kg or so.
I assume a V6 crank should be lighter than a 4 cyl crank? Honda B crank is 18kg.

And yes some 4G93/2 Hybrids going around making decent power

It can't be that light.
The 4G92 is meant to be 140kg
And the B16A 138kg
I don't know how accurate these figures are though as only 2kg difference and the B is alloy Vs the iron 4G9

LS1 is a full alloy engine though.
And under 200kg still sounds a bit optimistic
