I refuse to pay $200-$300 for something that is little more that a small steel modification & an ally riser plate, so Im making my own.

See as per the pic, the 2 ends of a standard shifter are just pressed into the centre ball, my plan is to pull the lower section out by 8-10 mm, then copy the C's alloy plate that goes under the assembly in my car

If I can't pull the lower section out by that much (and I may need to throw a couple of tacs of weld in to make sure it stays there) then I'll pull it all the way out & make a replacement part. Machine it up on the lathe, just 10mm longer - so we go from a 58.50mm shaft, to a 68.50mm shaft length.

That's all a short shifter is folks! A change in the pivot point

You can see the ally plate in this pic. I just need to replicate it.

Also note the longer lower section of the shifter

Just found out my short shifter doesnt have an alloy plate?
Could that be the reason why reverse is so hard sometimes and its real notchy?

Could i just space it with washers? would be a lot easier than replicating the plate.

And yep, going with steel spacer washers for the plate. These actually come as part of a Fujitsu server racking kit & they're never used, so I pinched dozens of them :cheerscunts:
