Post by RomaFTO1989 »

Need to find a good FTO mechanic for a fair bit of work.
Engine recon,
gearbox recon, (maybe even go from 4spd auto to 5spd auto)
All new plugs,
suspension Work
rear engine mount replace.
rear link bushes
front sway bushes.
#other little sh*t around.
(air-con clicking noise)

Any mechanic would suffice provided they are good, theres not any real specific fto mechanics around (well i guess you could count rick and joes but there sh*t imo)
My dad has 40 years under his belt and works in a nice shop up in kallangur if you are willing to travel there (by narangba, bout 20min north of brisbane if that)
Let us know and ill see if he can do a good deal

+1, Although, it will be better on your wallet, by sourcing parts yourself.

Avoid the local Mitsubishi distributors for parts, as they will over-charge for an imported car.

My mechanic just did an engine swap in my FTO and he is really really good at what he does and you will be very satisfied with the price
In archerfield though

Not really... My mechanic sourced all my parts an it was cheaper through him by quite a lot

I'm a mechanic and I get parts almost half of retail prices.

Any mechanic can do what you want as a magna is basically the same engine as the 6a12 and transmission is similar to a lancer.

What you want is big bucks mate.

Just the engine rebuild, transmission rebuild and AC compressor fix will cost you over 5k.

Get the parts first I say. If a mechanic can get parts for an Fto quicker and cheaper than me I will give him credit. Problem is there is no listing for Fto parts anywhere and it needs to be cross referenced which is also not listed.
