Thought i woukd revive the old thread.

Car has sat for id say about 2 years and been an ornament.
It is now next year eligible for club registration and i think i will put it on club rego for an occasional drive.

Started working on the car abit and mainly just cleaning it (wash and interior clean).

I have pulled out the centre console to fix some of the crappy wiring i did as a p plater and install a old Mitsubishi oil temp gauge i bought years ago.

Also started working on my old el panel kick plates.
The el panels are busted so i will order some new ones and give the kickplate are rub back with some steel wool.

Goal is to just make it as clean and stock as possible with a few little touches here and there.

Will upload some pics tomorrow

I second :)

Every person's treasure needs a good polishing every now and then.
Looking forward to seeing what's going on - and glad you're spending time rekindling the love.

So i had annual leave last two days and spent this time working on the cars mainly the FTO.

Mainly doing wiring and making sure everything is done correctly and removing a lot of the sh*t wiring i did as a p plater and from previous owners. Even the original owner i think installed a shift light that was spliced in from the ECU which was just wored terribly.

Gave the car another clean and re-mounted the head unit correctly. I pulled out the climate control unit to change the bulbs to white LEDs, and changed the dash lights to white LED. Going through just doing small things at the moment.

Does anyone know the which LED the climate control screen is? I know the buttons either side are a t5 but they are different size to the climate control screen?

Some pictures below,

Next i am going to give it a decent service
. rocker cover gaskets
. new plugs
. check all vac lines
. new manufold and throttle body gaskets
. have injectors cleaned and flowed
. some exhaust work

Does anyone know what this line runs to?
I am going through looking for any vacuum leaks and i cant find what this runs to?

T10 is the climate control screen globes, from memory.
And that line goes to charcoal canister.....I think.
Will have to double check!

Did abit of work on the car today.
Have a belt squeak on start up, tried to tighen the top belt just behind the dip stick but unfortunately none of my 14mm tools will able to fit. Tightened the bottom belt but it still is making noise.

Started looking at wiring in the oem facelift indicators and fog lights i have.

Put some new plugs on the indicators
Image

Seems previously for an unknown reason i cut out passwnger side conector for indicator, parker and foglight. On the driver side the plug was pretty shagged but i think i can fix it by adding some new plugs for indicator, Fog and Parker.
Managed to do it for the indicator.
Image

Will need to think how i am gonna mount the indicators and foglights as their is no mounting brackets. I think i will just use sikaflex or make a small bracket.

Finished the adding the new plugs on to the foglights and indicators. Will pick up some conjude to protect the wiring.

Previously that was a non facelift so the parker wiring is apart of the same loom. Will tend to that when i reclear coat the headlights.

The kick panels i have are pretty shagged, think i wll grab another set of the standard kickplate before i glue on the metal kickplate and EL Panel.

Bit of a pain when you don't have the facelift reo bar fitting those fogs, never bothered the first time I had a dstocks bar on. (even now they're not wired in lol, and still need to do the parkers in the headlights).

I'll take some pics when i do it for you.
I have been thinking how i will mount it and i think im just going to sika flex them to the bar.

For the parker i was looking and you can buy a T10 assembly with wiring. I might try this but i wont know till i pull the headlights out. Previously drilled them years ago, but will pull the headlights out and have a look.

Not long did all my lights in clear. Made a huge difference on the tail lights as well. Added a little base colour into the clear on the headlights and fog/blinker units.
Gives a nice light smoky colour when the lights are on.

Very nice work, man. Everything looks so clean! And good on you for being so productive :)
I'm sure you'll be reaping the benefits of all that work soon, when you get the double-takes from people as you drive past.

I'm still so jelly that you guys down under don't have to worry about rust on your cars.
