6A12 into Old Mazda?

Post by Daniel2019 »

Planning on fixing up an old engine that (I think) im getting off Dwayne, havent sorted anything out yet but whatever. Anyway, getting an old Mazda 323 with a buggered engine off a mate, take it out and work on it as a car to learn on as im mechanically retarded btu eager to learn.

How difficult (im assuming extremely, if even possible at all) would it be to get a 6A12 into the Mazda? I know the combination isnt ideal however its just something cheap ($100 engine + approx $1000 fix according to mechanic into a free car) for me to learn how to do sh*t on.
I fix cars.

I'm guessing a fair bit would need to be custom made..
Better off grabbing a lancer or mirage methinks..

Extremely.

Unless it's going to stay as a bush bash, it will cost you more to get it on the road to do it properly.

My plan is to get into an apprenticeship (which has compulsory tafe course attached, I believe) and work on an old crappy car on my own as a side project to learn sh*t on, as it wont matter if I screw it up :D So keen to finish school and start working on cars

If your getting the mazda for free I'm assuming its f$%cked, why don't you just fix its original motor? That what you're still learning and it won't cost you an arm an a leg... sorry dstocks not trying to rob you of a sale :eye:

lol.

I managed to do a turbo galant motor too my Magna.

But that's like an old used whore, hotdog down a hallway.

Massive engine bay and small engine.

Think you might find things a lot harder in a 323.

There are much better candidates for sleepers than what you are intending.

Original motor has been taken to a mechanic 3 times in 2 weeks according to the guy im getting it off, Im guessing its beyond repair and has like 500,000 kms on it.

Not very cost effective to turbo a 6a12 tbh if your going down that path, much better off dropping a 6a13 in there.
But again if its just xp your after gobble up all the orbs you can - and if its going to be cheap as sh*t for the motor n car why not - just dont expect it to all be cheap, as it has been said a lot of custom work will need to be done, first of which will be mounts - but GL with it nonetheless

If you're serious about turboing a Mivec, you can take a look at mine for ideas/tips if you like.
