GPvR Spoiler is On!

Post by Daniel2019 »

Mounted up my unique GPvR spoiler with no centre bar 5 minutes ago. Looking good, taped up the holes for now to see if its gonna survive without the centre post before I fill them up incase I have to go back to GPX spoiler.

If it shakes too much (just drove it, seemed okay but is clangy when boot gets shut) Im thinking of running a layer of fibreglass under the wing, just make it look a little bit thicker.

Pics up in the morning when theres light!

As mentioned before also, going to need to secure it more than with just those 2 bolts.
sikaflex and also add some way of having another 1 or 2 bolts...

Yep agreed. It sits slightly loose. The spoiler itself is loose, as in the side wings are loosely joined with the crossbar, but all the nuts are tight. Im guessing its old.

Fibreglass re-enforcement bar underneath and some snikaflex around the mount points should be plenty right?

See how you go.

I was kinda fretting over having the hairline crack on the underside of ours, it managed to all stay together, but to me, I'd rather having something secured to an inch of it's life and simply curse about removing it later.
Much better than it flying off towards someones car.

I got it on the night I got back. Gear shifter to go on in about half an hour, new piping too provided I can find an open shop. What size is the piping to and from the airbox at each end? Unrelated but hey.

Just got my bonnet on Dwayne, we got back at about 12pm decided to do it first up.
Needed the custom brackets to move the bonnet forward like you did, edges line up PERFECTLY on both sides, could not fault it - however i need to dremmel out my catch as it is a few mm short of closing properly even with it raised, its closed now but i pushed it significantly hard to get it like that - looks mint though, best purchase yet for the FTO.

When i can find my dremmel amongst my things im gonna cut out and fit the CAI, pod's already on ;)
