Yep, but will look better without it with these lights. With the stock taillight, it helps break up the red, but with these, it would obscure the LED.

        OK,

Here is another morsel for you all. Got the basic lenses from the US today. They arent attached properly at this point (I havent positioned themproperly for the pics either) and I need to now do some redesign for the indicator lens (ive had to cut a hole at this stage). The blue clashes horribly with the red and orange, but youget the idea. Oh and remember a clear perspex lens still to go over the top of this lot. Anyway, to the pictures:

Oh and the red ones need the guts replaced as the basic units are marker lamps and they need to have the dual filament thing happening.

Do you know how hard it was to find matching LEDS that small? All the ones on EBay are 10cm across (these ar just over 4cm). Its taken quite a few hours of searching to find those. The other problem I had was cost (some are $30 per lens - x4 = $120 per light = too much). If im to replicate these, I need to do it within a cost bracket. These are cheap and look effective. As it is im going to have to replace the guts of the red ones to provide the right functions, they had to be. Personally I would have liked increasing size from the indicator up, but that was not to be.

Oh theyll cost more than that.... Thats just the lenses. I have to get the cases duplicated and then there is the additional cost of the clear lens over the top if people also want that (although it occurs to me that it would theoretically be possbile to do without that on a case by case basis depending on what people want. Im not sure what itll end up at yet. Its a work in progress.
