Alright so I figured out how to bolt it onto the engine stand. Its not on there yet, im going to take the flywheel out first so I dont have to take it off again when I wanna tamper (probably break) the flywheel. Do I need to remove the whole crankshaft or will the flywheel come straight out?

Ok so basically this little bastard is stopping me getting the sump off. Because there is not enough gap between the lip and the sump itself, neither a socket nor a spanner will fit in.. any suggestions on how to get it off?

Can you tap a socket on with a hammer.
All else fails you could cut a slit in the top of it with an angle grinder/hacksaw or hit in a slot with a cold chisel and use a flat screwdriver.

No, neither of my socket sets will fit. Its because on the other side the sump is too close.

Just grind down your 10mm socket on a bench grinder. Make it fit.

What are you taking the sump off for yet anyway?

Get it on a stand first. Then you can swing it upside down, so much easier to work on.

Im trying to get the flywheel out so I dont have to take it off the stand when I want to screw around with it. The sump is bolted to the bottom of the flywheel, or am I getting mixed up? Looks to me like it is..

Flywheel is not connected to the sump mate. Think about it, the flywheel spins...
