Came at 7pm to hand deliver a registered letter. Without suspecting anything, I signed on the clipboard.
Later I opened the envelope and found a $100 jb hifi gift card.
I was not expecting this , but since my bd is just a few days away so I thought its a gift from a friend.

Then later I felt something's fishy. Which postman will deliver at 7pm? The envelope is legit from Australia post but the "deliver person to person" sticker is missing.
So to get to the bottom of this, I went to jb hifi the next day. The store person checked the gift card, claimed the card is real but is not activated, meaning there's no value.
Then off I went to post office, the staff scanned the envelope and confirm that it's not registered in their system.
Obviously, I realized that this is a prank or hoax. That moment, I was worried that it could be a form of identity theft as I had put my signature on the clipboard.
Not knowing what they can do by knowing where I live, my name, my address and my signature....I went to the police station and tell them what happened. They don't even pick up a pen and said, unless u are physically hurt or money lost, you can't report anything....£*^%{}|~\<]¥=+€

So yeah...that's what happened. Wierd eh....

maybe you signed your FTO away, could have been rego papers, a loan contract if I were you I would pay to have a credit history check done on yourself that way if they are trying to get $$$$ from you the banks normally run a credit check first, the person who has inquired about loaning you money that your not aware of will have their details listed then I would contact them........have I just scared you?

Apparently, I notified the building manager and he put up notices over all the boards around the apartment, strangely, all were removed off overnight.

So put them up again but this time with a hidden camera on them overnight, you'll probably catch the guy red handed, might be someone from the complex your building manager can identify.
