40 hour famine!
Hey guys,
Was wondering if anyone else here do 40 hour famine?
I used to do it when I was a kid but havn't done it since (going back many years now)
I saw an ad come up on my page thought i'd do it again. For the weekend 17-19 August i'm giving up Food, alcohol & driving  !
If anyone feels the need to donate. Feel free!

Cheers,
Stef

Re: 40 hour famine!
How does this work exactly?
I mean, how does starving yourself for 40 hours help raise funds etc?

Re: 40 hour famine!
just seems backwards and pointless to me how we have to starve ourselves to get donations.
people should be donating regardless, and starving ourselves is not getting us anywhere.
I dont want to live on this planet anymore

So people starving themselves is a means of motivation for donations?Kustom wrote:People donate is how
It just seems anti intuitive because maybe perishable goods will expire etc, so people are throwing out food while trying to provide food for those who do not have it?
BTW not hating or anything, just genuinely interested/curious

You don't have to go without food you can give up somthing you use all the time.
Food is just the normal thing ppl go without.

Re: 40 hour famine!
I've heard someone was giving up the use of limbs. Interesting idea.
I think it's as much 'stepping into another's shoes' as it is about the money raised.

40HF website fail. Went to process my credit card & returned a '500 internal server error'
If I get Nigerians knocking off my identity because of you, I'll make sure you never post again! *shakes fist*

I doubt you would have been charged then. I wonder if my other friends got the same error. Either that or it just takes time to update my donations haha.

How about we just compile ideas of epic things to go 40 hours without?
