Dad's D-Max

Just thought I'd put up a post of dad's new beast, what does everyone think of it?
It's a 2012 Isuzu D-Max Space Cab Turbo Diesel, with an auto trans.
This is when he picked it up and brought it to the base, brand new.

And this is one day later... went to Tempe wheel and tire centre, got black 20's wrapped in cooper LTZ low profile A/T tires. Looks pretty sweet.

I think Fraz91 might be the most interested, given he has a Triton. You should take them for a drag.

No point, I'd leave him in a cloud of my smoke

I don't mind the D-Max's. They've got a very strong engine, although I'm not much of a fan of their auto's. Their manual transmission is a lot stronger IMO.

That being said, it's definitely not a bad looking vehicle. The black rims really set it off though 8)

There's only one way to find out

The only issue with the new wheels/tires is that it's a slightly smaller rolling diameter. I personally think it would have looked better with a larger profile, whilst keeping the 20's. But yeah, it looks quite nice.

I would not trust those rims off-road.
Having said that... chances of this thing seeing mud?...

Yeah I'd be skeptical too, however the likelihood of Dad doing some serious off-roading is slim to none, haha.
I think he just likes to have the 4x4 to get out of certain situations, or if he just gets stuck somewhere.

Certain situations? Nah, he should've gotten one of these instead.

You'd be surprised at how much of a beating alloy wheels can take off-road. I've done heaps of rock-work with my factory alloys and the tyres down as low as 12psi (makes them bag out like a whore). Just gotta be careful and not hit things too hard. That being said, a rogue tree-stump or sharp rock will make short work of alloys compared to steelies. I've seen an alloy get smashed versus a bent steely, and I know which I'd prefer to have.

If your dad wants any sussy work done to it, give me a ring and we might be able to do a deal. We're currently looking for a new D-Max to do some R&D stuff on at work, let me know if he's interested. ;)

Look at where the alloys came from is my point...

I had a set of SSRs on the RVR and did some hefty off roading on them.
They became scratched up as hell and one had a nice little dint in the outter corner, but they reamined circular and in shape.

Those things I wouldn't trust with a slightly raised gutter or a Paramatta road pot hole...

The Hilux has a nice set of Sunraisers. ofcourse, zero issues there.

Yeah they're mates from school... tbh I'm not quite sure why they joined the forum, given they don't have FTOs. I just choose to ignore them

I'm not quite sure why you told your mates you made a post about your Dads D-Max on an FTO forum.
I choose to Gen Y the reason.
