My exhaust ideas...

Post by Chromobolt »

Hey guys I haven't bought anything yet but my ideas to kick off my exhaust system are as follows.. Stock extractors/ stock down pipe/ stock cat/ 2.5" mandrel bent mild steel main pipe/ single 16" resonator/ 4" or 5" cannon muffler.. I will eventually replace the cat with a high flow and get some better extactors + down pipe but this is just a start as $$$ are limited for now :/ All opinions on the setup, sound and performance of this setup are much appreciated :) And even a price estimation from anyone would be great!!

This is what mine sounded like with a cannon, it was very very deep sounding

I hated it lol

I just got a new exhaust system so my old will maybe up for sale I'll get some measurements of it tomorrow but I know that the last part of the system including the muffler is 100 present stainless steel has 4" tip not a cannon and about 2 and quarter inch pipes all way through
gotta get there one day :)

Hahaha I'm pretty new to FTO exhaust systems.. This might be a really stupid question but what's bad about a cannon on an FTO?? If you guys have any ideas as to a good badass sounding system let me know :) I'm open to all suggestions!!

EVERYTHING is bad about a Canon :/

Get a hi-flow cat back, hurricane/rpw extractor, and choose an exhaust suggested by people here.

Hahaha ok ok it seems like no one is a fan of the cannon muffler on the FTO!! And I figured it would sound awesome sticking out of a V6 lol guess I was wrong.. Ok so my revised system will most likely be 2.5" mandrel bent mild steel cat back pipe, 1 18" resonator, a high flow muffler with twin 3" tips like the stock outlet.. How do does anyone reckon that would sound and perform??

Always had a question...if I wanted to pick up Dwayne's rear bar and go quad, I have to either find another pair of Greddy or ditch them completely and get a custom made quad tip 2-2 system? Maybe Dwayne can answer this better for me.

A much better choice! Basically anything except a cannon is acceptable on an FTO. I have mandrel-bent stainless pipes, well worth the money. Great quality!

I find cannons aren't too bad if they arent sticking out a lot and have a body kit
