It will be much more complicated than you think to convert HKS - mostly ECU complications as you will not use the same tune im guessing.

Considering auto box has a separate ECU, it shouldn't make a difference... Should it??

If I had that car, I would put an aftermarket ECU and really boost and tune it..
I just had to add it ......

I was going to do that on one of the silver ones actually but a black GR popped up so Im doing a MIVEC conversion on it instead.

As mentioned, a bunch of people have done manual conversions so yeah its doable.

What do you guys think of this one http://www.tradingpost.com.au/Automotiv ... 8702319120

Has had a deposit taken on it but no one has come to collect it, so just waiting for a phone call this morning. It states it is a GR but the bloke on the phone thinks it is a GPX so if available I will need this verified. And if a GR are these any good?

Think its a gpx? I can see folding mirror and tcl switch? A picture of the engine bay would have been useful. Don't go for a GR btw, once you hear the mivec kicking in, you won't go back.

edit: nvm, its a gr. Can't see any climate control.
Edit: ffs, I should never look at pictures half asleep. The climate control is covered behind the LCD. Back to my first guess of it being a gpx.

Just as a FIY all GR's had climate control, folding mirrors etc.

The only ones that didn't were GS and GPvR.

cool thanks, which out of these would be the best option as i like all three hehe...

1.1995 The GR or GPX will get photos tomorrow of the engine and roof, this one has taken my eye based on the interior very neat and tidy but i am not liking the dealers at the dealership too much as they sold a car i had been ringing them for on a daily basis right under my nose! If this is a GR then it will be taken off the list immediately! :) Plus i think i will get about 3 months rego on this one and i did a check and the rego was on a concession so i will need to pay the balance remaining for someone not on a concession.

Link: http://www.tradingpost.com.au/Automotiv ... 8702319120

Pros:
  • The car has about 114, 000km's on the clock
    nice interior, nice exterior condition,
can get a warranty on the car (i think 3 years warranty)
Cons:
  • the air-con is broken but they have ordered the part so that should be ok,
plus it looks like the drivers side seat belt buckle is broken this too will need to be addressed before moving it out of the dealership.
Dealership fees on top of the purchase price!
Oh and the roof rust thing in the earlier models will need to be addressed
Ok so the next on my list...

2. 1995 MITSUBISHI FTO GPX, this is a nice car white and dark grey interior plus a sunroof and tinted windows.

Link: http://www.carsales.com.au/private/deta ... rt=default

Pros:
  • Nice clean car, in and out.
    Sunroof
    has service history receipts
    Mivec (oh yeah)
    6 months rego
Low km's a bit over 124,000kms

Cons:
  • Sunroof makes a cracking sound when opened about half way
The immobiliser is taped in the engine bay! lol ???
3. The white GP Version R on this site that is up for sale

Link:
http://ftoaustralia.com/v3/viewtopic.ph ... 0&start=20

This car is very sexy and has a lot of potential but doesn't have the climate control like the GPX or the foldable mirrors (not sure if these things are going to be a big deal breaker as this is the sports model based on power and speed)

So yeah that is my list...let me know what you think :) Man it is F@#kin hot today sorry if my post doesnt make any sense or if there arre a heap of errors lol :P too hot!

You can put folding mirrors into a vR anyway, just get the motor from foldable ones. A few members have done it.

Go with the GPvR I'd say. Comes with an LSD and strut brace and some other goodies.
