New Rear Bar

Post by Chromobolt »

Hey guys just wanted to know how reliable Car Mate are for parts.. My mate sent me a photo of a rear bar from them and it looks pretty tidy.. I wanted to know if Car Mate products (rear bars/front bars/body kits) are any good or their products are dodgy.. My rear bar's got a big f**k off dent in it from the last owner and I'm gonna replace it.. Just want the best for my baby I know you'd all understand :)

It's all luck of the draw I'm sure people sometimes get good ones and sometimes people get bad ones but when I Say bad I really mean fucked nothing lines up
Best off getting a rear bar from dstocks or any body parts for that matter
gotta get there one day :)

The bonnets are one of the best things from them in the way of fitting.

If you are after full kits have a chat with dstocks as he has a great kit available ( front and back bars, side skirts and also fenders ) .

I have had 2 bonnets from them.. All good..

I got skirts off them, and panel beater refused to fit them. They were that bowed that he would have had to chop it into sections, fit, then re-glass it..

Other people have been luckier though..
I just had to add it ......

It's more the fact that they don't get a lot of FTO's in there getting parts fitted, so they can't fix their moulds that they have.
Unlike their commodore and ford kits that are fitted twenty thousand times a day  .

Hey guys thanks again for all the help it means a lot :) I'll definitely hit up dstocks to get my new rear bar.. I tend to trust 'people in the know' a lot more then some of these mainstream suppliers anyways.. God damn that custom rear bar he's rockin looks tidy :) If funds weren't so tight in fixing up and restoring my new angel I'd be 100% committed to getting me one so it might have to be a cheaper boring stock bar for now :/

Yep, got stock rear bars in the shed (4 or 5 I think). Any particular colour.

Oh and can get the custom rears made on request at any time.

Aww this is awesome news man :) I'll need a black one if you've got it.. I really love the look of your custom bar and if I had the $$$ to get it I would!! Unfortunately I got to repair some body work and my left rear strut needs some solid repair so if you could hold a black bar for me for a week or two that would be great man :)

Pretty sure I have at least one black one. Will go and check in the shed when it cools down a bit. Where are you though. Not exactly the sort of thing I can chuck in the post.

Ok, just had a look at it. $50. There are a couple of scratches that I dont believe will buff out though.
