Ok all, so to add to the collection is a new FTO. I swear this one is for the wife. You will notice this is Cass's car from Melbourne.

So the plan is to restore her to her former glory. I will post some pics and update as things progress..

Car currently has:
Sunroof
Stock rims
Front and rear cusco strut braces
Front and rear adjustable cusco coilovers
ARC intake pipe and enclosed box
Gandor side mirrors
White face dials
Stainless steel surrounds
Red Recaro Bucket Seats
Rare Carbon Fibre Clock/Volt surround (factory option)
Carbon stereo facia
Razo Carbon fibre gear shifter

Pics to follow shortly as phone is about to die.

I had a start taped but clicked back on the phone and lost it.. So left it at that..

Anyway, car is really good on fuel, and the coilovers are an awesome ride. So comfortable. Love driving it more than mine at the moment.

The ride back did see us hit some trouble though. At Yass the alternator belt decided to let go. We managed to wing it to Canberra where we stopped at a shop to get supplies. Good old pantyhose did not work as a makeshift belt, but Aza had a great idea of shoe laces. As the pulley is ribbed, this worked as we were able to put 1 on the inside rib and the other on the outside.

This got us some 160k and we stopped short of Braidwood. 10k to be exact. But Dwayne our local NRMA met us at the rest stop for a quick change over. We got the new belt on, and noticed the pulley was cactus.. So back to Dwaynes to change that over.

Here are the pics from the journey:

We freaked out the service station attendant as the car had no plates. So he cut fuel to our pump. Aza had to stand guard in the shop to prove we were going to pay.

Next step is a general service and rego.. :)

Doesn't look too bad at all!
love the dials too :)
Did it have some sort of temp rego to be driving with no plates?

Yep had a permit issued from Vic to get me home. That didn't stop the NSW police from giving me a $600 fine though :(

So would cost me more to fight in court then to pay them. Assholes got me because I deviated by 1 street of going on a "direct route" home..

Thanks all.. Yeah dog act from the cops. But that is Sutherland Police for you.

We went past 2 highway patrol in VIC and I think 2 general duties that were doing speed checks and didn't even get pulled over. But 1km from home, we met Sutho Cops.

I was unsure about getting a car do fix up, vs a Dwayne drive away special. But this one has too many goodies to pass up.

Ohh nice.

Good to see it stayed in the club.

And yeah, a lot of goodies makes this desirable.

Sounds like an epic annoying journey back however.

You got that right.. the alternator I can handle as sh*t happens. But the cop tried to pick at every clause in the day rego.. From it being issued in VIC to the "direct route".

Every aspect I was covered, but he wouldn't let it go. He was searching for a reason.

Yeah, at least there are no points associated with it ... But $596 is going to hurt...

Id put in a complaint about the officer in question at the very least. 1 street over is ridiculous. There are plenty of more important things that they should be doing rather than hassling someone who has followed the correct process.

Also, you can always have the situation to 'fill up petrol because it was exhausted, and used the extra street to get there'. If you had not filled her up, the car wouldn't have reached the destination using the direct possible route.

I had dropped a friend's motorbike from Melbourne to Goulburn on that permit and had passed numerous highway patrols and local cop cars. No one stopped me or said anything. In your case it's pretty much I guess said officer having a bad day at home with the Mrs...sees a fancy car with spoilers, let's find every and any possible cause to harass them to prove his superiority complex.

I'll be monitoring this thread... You better treat the car well, I know where you live!

I think the biggest thing I'll be looking forward to is a respray :)

Congrats on getting her back to Syd, even if with a minor hick-up :P

+1 at the VERY least, call the station and lay a formal complaint - that is harassment anyway you look at it.

He broke the law. Even if its minor. Can't be put down as harassment.

Take it on the chin, there's nothing you can do
