Re: Cruise down to Lawso's Friday before bonfire
I have been working on the route and it's going to take us 12 ish hours including food and fuel stop overs and road closures. So ideally we should leave by 6 am instead of meeting up at 6.
So plotting from Southport (if that's where we decide as the meeting point), the stop overs will be Coff's (breakfast and fuel), Kempsey (lunch and fuel), Bulahdelah/Taree (fuel and rest) before arriving at Lawso's place. I think we should aim to reach Lawso's by 6 pm, so we have some buffer in our hand.
Open to suggestions
P.S: Anybody else who is not taking their FTO, but is a full license holder for 1yr or more who wants to come in my car? I just realized I need to take my car to the bonfire, have some stuffs to pick up and fit from Dwayne..so the motorbike is out of the picture.

Re: Cruise down to Lawso's Friday before bonfire
probably don't want to get there at 6pm (have to fight through peak hour traffic if we get there at 6.
I say, we still aim at leaving at 6ish, but just time the last leg so that we miss the most of the traffic. Besides, there're bound to be unscheduled stops and delays along the way anyway.
just my 2 cents:)
OOoOoOo, and can we take the inland route from coffs to seven mile rocks, it runs pretty much parallel to the high way (give or take) and only adds another 5 mins to the trip, but is fun.
...and can we take this detour as well:
https://maps.google.com.au/maps?saddr=T ... 1&t=m&z=12
fun bit of road, per the below photo (note the signs)

Ive been with vodafone for years, including last years trip down to the bonfire - and i had as much reception as telstra people, if not a little more at times. You wont have any at Dwaynes, or through the mountains on the last stretch, but most of the way you should have 1-2 bars minimumBorepYano wrote:We organising CB radios?

But we still need cb radios to communicate while driving. There's no mobile reception for vodafail through out the highway.Taz wrote:Ive been with vodafone for years, including last years trip down to the bonfire - and i had as much reception as telstra people, if not a little more at times. We also need a 'return trip' plan sorted out. Can't be driving all the way from Dwayne's to GC, need a stop over.
As of now we have:
1. Shenal
2. BorepYano
3. Sahin +1

Depending on what time we get to Sydney on the way back, welcome to stop off at mine for coffee/energy drinks/nap whatever, or if its later in the day again, welcome to stay another night and head off in the morning.
I fix cars.
