150km mivec engine for sale
Up for grabs is a mivec engine out of my 98 GPR.
Has 152XXX on the clock.
Will be a complete assembled block, minus the sump and leads/coils. (leads/coils can be left on if something is worked out but i need the sump for the other fto) Perfect if yours is goneskies and your sump and leads/coils are still good.
Timing belt and water pump replaces at 100km. Never missed a beat in the 30km ive had it. No tappet noise, always filled with 5w30 castrol edge fully synth. Iridium spark plugs JUST replaced at 150 (major service done) Only minus is it could use some tappet cover gaskets - only a drip every now and then seems to seep through so i never bothered to replace them when i noticed - always retained the oil between service intervals - no drips left on driveway etc
Asking 500 ono, located in brissy but can ship at buyers expense (not sure how much it will be as i refuse to use EGO couriers anymore )

Re: EOI 150km mivec engine and LSD box
Why are you parting your GPvR out
Sorry to hear that you are
I could be interested in the box down the track. Once this project is up and running and I have some moneys. Not for a little while though.

Re: EOI 150km mivec engine and LSD box
Long story short, it will be off the road for 2 years if i keep it, and there is way to many parts i want/need for maverick to sell it for what little they are selling for today.

Ah... fair point I guess. Cant justify keeping it for those two years? Shame to part out a version R in good knick.
Do you have any other bits and pieces from it being sold just out of curiosity?
But yeah, maybe gearbox for me, but in a few months or so.

Re: EOI 150km mivec engine and LSD box
Not really, cant let a good car sit for so long - and ive been wanting to rip all the goodies out of it lately anyway
Theres just so much i can get from it that would take forever to find and cost too much money (GPR subframe for instance)
And with what theyre worth today id be lucky to get 6 for it id make more parting it out almost..
Not much else of interest will be up for sale i dont already have lying around anyway, stereo console - thats pretty much it.
Stealing coilovers, seats, subframe, all manual gear (as maverick was an auto) cluster, struts, the list goes on!
Honestly, i dont think that the box will last long dude, i know bennoz is looking for one and surely a few others want to upgrade, few months might be too long

Yeah, I kinda figured that would be the case on the gearbox. Still, just as an EOI, I thought it could be a little while until the ball gets rolling so was just throwing it out there
By all means if someone wants it before me then its theirs
Dammit, I thought there might be a few goodies
The other alternative.. how come you dont get rid of Maverick and do all that work to the GPvR? Would it not be less work considering you dont have to f**k with suspension, subframes, manual conversion etc? (Sorry to get off topic, just wondering, feel free to tell me to stfu and take the convo elsewhere )

Re: EOI 150km mivec engine and LSD box
Just lost the licence for 2 years, so there would be no point in doing up a street car.
I also started Project Maverick - and fully intend to finish it, half of the reason being to pull the finger to all those who doubted it would even see another engine in it

Not really, a few panels need to be touched up and ive already shelled and cleaned out maverick. The paint on maverick is also immaculate. A lot of man hours has gone into maverick to prepare it to the stage that it is already that you wouldnt even think of
