Another stupid question :)

Can someone tell me how to get the vents out of the top of the dash - the ones right up near the windscreen please? I didn't want to try and force them in case there was a trick to it. Don't need anything else snapping in my car

They do just lift out - they are held in by a couple of those clips that just pull out (might be a bit stiff though)
Ive got many spare sets if you do break em though ;)

I also have several of these...shove a screw driver in the vent and pull it up it'll be easier ;)

Yeah I ended up using 2 little tech deck flat screw drivers. I knew having male children would pay off one day
Couldn't get the middle one out because it has the central locking sensor in it and it just didn't have enough wiggle room for me to get my fingers in there. Guess that one is staying black for the time being

OMG I'd squeal like a girl if I saw Dwayne's shed

Yeah, wrecked about 15 now. Looks weird having 7 or 8 centre consoles all lines up next to one another.

BTW, centre vents wont come out. They are screwed to the back of the rubber upper console. Takes about 10 minutes to get at them. You need to remove the stereo surround toget at them though, and thats a dreaded job.

Every time someone says that I laugh. I remove my stereo surround about 20 times a week. And yes it is still the original one. :cheeky:

 Well it is carbon wrapped, so even if it does snap (unlikely, I have tried bending it to see if it would snap and it has a bit of flex to it) it will still be held together.

My stereo surround hasn't been in the car for about a month now ... I taught myself how to fiberglass so I could fix it. Was cracked on one side and missing about an inch on the other. And I did a bloody brilliant job if I do say so myself. And then I went and snapped the f**king thing in a whole new place when I was putting the gaiter in it this arvo  Not happy Jan.

Dwayne, thanks ... but I meant the center vent right at the top of the dash near the windscreen :)

I have the stereo surround out, the gauge pod out, the tweeter covers and the top vents out now. Back seat is in the lounge room and the door and rear trims are coming out tomorrow. Headliner probably on the weekend - black interior with grey headliner wtf? It'll be a shell soon 8O But I'm really enjoying doing all this stuff myself :D

Oh one more question for y'all ... where can I get black dials from? The gauge pod that I bought has black dials for the volt meter and the clock and I much prefer those to the horrid white ones I have in the car now. I need the main gauges (tacho, speedo, temp & fuel) and I can't seem to find them on Ebay, only the white ones I don't like.
