My brother got one of our grandparents old Beetle. IIRC he's already spent like $3000 on it. (had to get it from the Gold Coast to Adelaide). Don't think he can tease me about buying an import now.

Windows don't do a lot when it's 43 degrees. Rare occasions, granted.

Stick your head out the window while traveling at high speeds. If you keep your mouth open you can get a good feed.

GenY have never heard the term "4 & 60" referring to 4 windows open at 60km/h. All you need to keep a car at a reasonable temperature ;)

Just because it doesn't have air con doesn't make it a POS.....

In my eyes and a lot of others, a daily without aircon is a pos in QLD.

Lol don't take it to heart guys hahah.

Its just silly to own a car without aircon up here.

You make it sound as if it is 40 degrees every day up there.

I'm guessing you're one of those people that never drive with the windows down.

Always been a windows down air con off man - always will be.
As stated, air con really isn't needed, unless you're a puss ;)

The barina was given to me by a friend who was under the impression that I would be keeping it as a daily for a long time. It wouldn't be right to just make money off it. I'll be halving any profits with him.

As for the ute, my uncle said if I do end up fixing it up and selling it he just wants the $200 he would've got if he scrapped it.

Currently I'll be selling the barina and silver FTO. That will be enough to build my black FTO.

That ute will be handy around Bonfire to pick up stuff from Dwayne's place and use it as an ice pitt to chill drinks...I'd say keep it :P

Yeah, that's why I want it. It's incredibly practical. Only issue for me will be petrol consumption with the 4.0L 6 cylinder.

Unless you make as much money as those that can afford multiple vehicles.
Don't do it.
With the cost of registration, ctp, insurance, AND given the fact you are in the younger age bracket which means the costs are higher.
It just doesn't work in your favor.
When owning 5 cars for me meant the cost of 2 cars when the prices were stupid cheap, yeah sure.

But seriously, in your position, just don't.

Tell your uncle to keep the ute.
Sell the Barina and split the profits.
Sell the silver FTO and have just the 1 car.

Yes, this and that might be handy, but so is money, for when you really need it.
Perhaps think about those in a currently worst position than you and where they are with funds.

You'll do what you want in the end, but simply put some logic behind it before giving the G.I. Joe sign off.

All my vehicles are in my mother's name, so costs are not ridiculously high for me. I'm not listed on the insurance. We just pay a bigger excess if I'm in an accident, hence why I'm such a careful driver (as most people here can vouch for, not that it matters really but yeah)

Currently I dont pay rent, mortgage, bills, any of that sh*t. I make about 400 a week, give or take and also have interest on a term deposit coming into my savings which is a substantial amount. The interest that I get is enough to cover two vehicles for insurance and rego per year, and then some. In all honesty most of my money spent is not in vehicles (even though I'm about to get my 4th), it's probably close to half on food and theres also a significant amount going into random things like slurpees and ice cream in summer EFA incoming...

I am also contemplating selling the mivec converted FTO when I get closer to my full license to make way for a galant anyway, but we will cross that hurdle when we come to it.

Why not invest this abundance of cash into something that doesn't depreciate. . Like property?
