I might be able to get you a cheap room at the Meriton on the waterfront - tallest in Brissie and much closer than a drive from the goldy - got a mate who works there :D

Could always have a crack at prepping it yourself to save him some time and save you some money
I fix cars.

Make sure they actually repair it properly, by cutting out all rust and welding new plates in. If they just cut and bog it will come back after a couple of months.

Thanks Taz ... but I adore the Q1 and I really need to get the hell away for a couple of days. Plus I'm not real keen on driving around in Brissy too much. Never done any real city driving other than Surfers.

Yeah Vectose, my youngest son (he's a gearhead) said that was what needed doing. I would definitely want it done properly.

Daniel, I did wonder what I could do to save some money, but I haven't a clue about body work :? Always willing to have a go though :D

Xena, if you're going to do the roof rust after the BBQ then you can have a yarn with ppl there to get some more idea, or if anyone's roof lining is easy to take off then maybe even have a look.

Taz, I might swing by if I don't forget, won't be in the FTO though, unless someone can tow it there and back lol

if you see it on the exterior, then that means it's rusted through, cos it's the glue on the inside that causes the rust, you can get it cut out and welded though.

Might have to organize meat and drinks now
5-10 bucks a head would cover a mad feast for everyone :D
should be 10-15 odd people coming by the looks!
Luckily i have room in the driveway for 6 cars, and free parking right across the road for 50+ cars

Get your lists together now guys of what you want/need to do. Start ordering parts if needed. Might plan a cruise during the afternoon too which will lead to a photoshoot as we have some decent numbers now.
Theres the usual Mt Gravatt lookout which weve done in the past. Also out by Brisbane port theres some pretty sick spots. Anywhere else anybody can think of? Or cruise routes?
