Auto trans fluid

Just a quick question - whats considered the best auto trans fluid for the FTO? anything in particular or just whatever youd put in a similar car? and how much does it take - will a 4ltr bottle be enough? Looking at this one

I got mine off my mechanic. Think it was just a standard. Car will take anywhere from 5 to 6ltr. Depends how much you draon out.

I did a quick flush, only moved through the gears twice. Took about 3l. Fresh took his time the other week and put in about 5ltr..

Ive read the auto trans DIY jono wrote a while back - i want to do the full monty and completely flush/drain it if i dont need special tools (apparently?)
Ill probably grab a couple of 1lt on top of the 4lt then

I think in that DIY he says there is only a couple of fluid types that u should use, so I've been hesitant to do mine.
Or am I wrong and is that Nulon ATF fine to use?

Yes and no.

The thread is the same which is why it works. But the propper filter is a shorter one. A good auto rep can look it up for you.

It's Dexron, not Dextron. And yes, Dexron III is the correct fluid to use.

I wasn't trying to be a smartass. Was only providing the correct spelling for someone to search for the fluid.

So this will do as it meets dexron 3? is this correct?

I wouldn't use anything that "meets" several different standards. Just use a fluid that is made as Dexron 3.
But it should work.

That Nulon stuff is multicar use which probably means it's got a whole lot of additives in it that might not be useful/good for your tranny.
