I think the gap around the headlight is causing the poor design look.
With the gap filled in, it looks 100% better... in my opinion, back to the original photoshop.

That looks better. Not wearing eyeliner anymore.

Yeah, I see what you mean now, and do agree.

Thinking of the best way to do.
Realistically, means a custom job on the bonnet side for a completely clean line without interruption.

ie. Not something I'll be doing.

That last pic does look better. Would be interested to see it follow a rounded curve as Daniel suggested.

Tried it.

Covers too much of the headlight.

Possibly if the vinyl followed the same curve as the bonnet and fender (as in was rounded) but then it would cover the lights and might look a bit weird because it would make the light look round too.

Meh.
Are you sure?

There aren't words for what a bizarre mix of shapes that is.

That doesn't look too bad! It's a bit of a fiddly thing though. Looks better on some cars than others depending on the shape of the headlight and the shape of the eyelid.

Reminds me a bit of the S15 headlights:

Although it would take a LOT of work to make it look decent. Simply applying vinyl over the headlights looks incredibly tacky and cheap.
