Actually (showing my age) daleks couldn't fly when they first appeared. It was only Series 2 that they learnt how to do that!

'The Dalek ability to fly or hover dates back to The Chase[1](Ser2, Ep8), where a Dalek was implied to have taken flight, while in Revelation of the Daleks, a Dalek hovered to exterminate two victims. The first part of the 1988 serial Remembrance of the Daleks shows a Dalek who was clearly seen to hover up a flight of stairs to the Doctor's horror.[2] Rose and Adam allude to a long-held fan joke about the Daleks' inability to climb stairs,[3][4][5] and are horrified when it does so.' from Wikipedia :alien: :cyclopsani: :clown:

wasn't that because they didn't have the budget to make them fly?

It helps if you've watched the entirety of Doctor Who, right from the black and white beginnings to truely understand how convoluted that show can get sometimes

The most popular theory atm is John Hurt is going to be playing a kind of lost regeneration, call it 8.5. Hurt said in an interview that he would be playing "a part of the Doctor" in a "kind of trinity" which includes David Tennant (I'd be in on any kind of trinity with David LOL).
My theories ...
Hurt might be the regeneration that ended the Time War maybe and that's why 11 doesn't want Clara to see him and turns her away. 11 also says something about there being a true self, so maybe Hurt is ALL the Doctors *shrug* Dunno. From leaked spoiler pics on the net he certainly seems dressed like about 3 different Doctors.

Maybe Hurt will be the 12th Doctor? Smith has signed on for at least one more year so there's no possibility of a regen until at least the end of 2014. The Doctor is only supposed to have 12 regens before dying completely, but on the SJC he said 507 times - but as a joke, maybe 8O

Makes you think though :) Sucks we have to wait until November for any more Doctory goodness :(

Now I shall take my geeky self to Supercheap Auto and buy some car stuff

Looks like I know pretty much as much as you do... I'm confused as f**k 8O

I've watched most of the epidodes they have on DVD (missus collects them) and I know how complex it gets, but sh*t, Moffat! 8O

I've heard that there may be a regeneration half way through next season... I don't want to wait until November though for the next EP :(

Yeah well, Matt Smith did want to go to America and become a movie star (he seriously does NOT have the face for it!) so who know. At least we know the episode in November will be frigging awesome, being the anniversary episode and 90 minutes long. You know the things Moffat does to us in half that time!!
