I think Holden might be able to weather it.

The cruise is a small displacement car, the commodore is apparently being replaced by a smaller engined family car and they still have the imported barina range.

Ford were still pushing the territory ffs. I'll be glad that soccer mums can't get them anymore.

Ford failed to adapt.

The old man works for ford as the dealer principal (big boss/general manager) of Metro Ford in Brisbane, and he says that Ford are still going to be producing cars in Australia, but not the territory or the falcom. Apparently they're pushing to manufacture the Ranger, the Kuga and the Focus in Australia, with new plants set to begin manufacturing in 2016. Amazing how the media 'misplaces' some information, isn't it?
They're also undergoing negotiations to sell Mustang and other American models in Australia, that should be interesting.

Like most car outlets, it's going to be overseas models offered in Australia.
Whilst this does little for the industry, it keeps retail chains in business.

I expected that the trend would see more smaller car productions going on, the way Holden are now aiming.
But it's too little too late.
Same direction as Mitsubishi, they should have heeded the warning.

Well apparently, the Ranger is their highest-selling vehicle at the moment, due to many businesses and tradies adopting it as their new vehicle of choice due to its size and durability... Selling higher than the Hilux at the moment, apparently!

I'm only repeating what I've been told, but from a Ford dealer principal, I'd say it's a credible source.

The Ranger is definitely selling well, there's no denying that. But until the Hilux conforms to ANCAP 5star ratings, the mines wont touch it.

Funnily enough, the Triton is our biggest seller at the moment, outselling the hilux at about 2:1 at the moment. It's the first time any vehicle has out-sold a Toyota here...
