Gearbox removal and swap help

Ok removed the gearbox today.
Firstly, in relation to the first photo, do I need to remove that nut to remove the shaft? If so, how do I undo the fuka? The whole thing spins, and even when sort of locking it into something it's so tight..

Secondly, just wanted to put some pics up so that anyone with knowledge about a gearbox etc could see if there is any visible issues I need to to attend to before doing the swap?
And is there anything that I should replace, like mount rubbers and things while its out, to save me doing it in the near future..
Complete noob with this sh*t (obviously) so try and lay off c**nts.......
not gonna happen I know :/

Realistically, should have removed that nut before taking off the caliper and rotor.

Put those back on loosely, jam a good strength screwdriver in-between the fins of the rotor so it can't spin against the caliper, and then remove the nut. (red neck method)

It's on at about 200nm, if it was done properly, if not, could be seized, then for all intensive purposes... for you... your fucked.

As for the rest, those pics don't tell any stories.

Only if the socket bit fits in!
Some have a thicker wall, and won't make it in.

And also. :cheeky:

Why is there water everywhere? Specifically why does it look like there's been water in the clutch housing & on the pressure plate?

One of the best investments you can make is in a quality compressor and rattle gun IMO. It would have that nut of in seconds.
Air tools are infinitely useful.

I hate air tools...
You can crack every nut on the FTO without them and without the f**k around of a compressor lol and they are expensive for a good one...
