NeWbIe FrOm TaS

Post by PRNC5S »

Hey guys just thought id introduce myself.
Im Jamie, 27 year old chick from Launnie Tas. I used to have an FTO that i had resprayed in Morpheus purple WHICH I LOVED but sold it to buy a family car. I have now just brought another FTO. I think most of you will be familiar with it, i flew to Newcastle to buy it. Its the orange one that was in HOT4s... NEM02L.
However due to living in Tassie its obviously a lot harder to just go check out a car before buying, so after speaking with the people i brought it off and them taking it to a mechanic to have the once over i decided to go and buy it. The problem is though the mechanic they took it too must not be that great at his job as theres a lot more wrong with it than he said..
The good thing though... my bf is a mechanic, and although he didnt come with me to pick it up, atleast i know he can fix whats wrong with it.
It unfortunately isnt in as good condition as when it was in HOT4s, with clear coat coming off in a couple of areas, and a few of the mechanical issues and general wear and tear. I dont mind too much though, as i currently also own a Nisaan Stagea which is heavily modified so i brought the FTO as a daily. But i am going to get NEM02L back to its former glory however due to to changing states the new name ( number plates ) will be PRNC5S.
Is there many other people on here from Tas?
So i will be on the hunt for a few car parts for PRNC5S over the next few weeks, and will put pics up at some stage :)

Thanks guys :)
Im not sure if it had a carbon bonnet, but it will have another soon enough ;)
Yep do love the bright colours love to stand out :P
As you can see Tas doesnt have a lot of good cars for sale hence going to newcastle for this and SA for the stagea lol
bf needs to take it to work this week and put it on the hoist but just from having a quick look its got some oil leaks, ones on the side between the head and block, hoping its not head gasket :(
a lot of it is just things that arent too bad and can be easily fixed..
The suspension is pretty well stuffed, cant really afford new ones atm as am bout to put new ones in the stag, was hoping to put some standard ones in with lowered springs but they seem to be a bit pricy too so not sure if i should just get second hand decent standard ones or wait and get more coil overs...
driving it back to the boat and the drivers side mirror glass fell out, luckily didnt break, the cluster isnt working.. which was a little bit sucky driving it back from newcastle trying to figure out when to put petrol in haha.
when i turn just before full lock theres a knocking.. thinking it may just be that the wheels are huge or something to do with suspension??
my horn wont work wahhhhh..
and some of the dash sint sitting right and when i open the bonnet half of it falls out :S
these sorta things will be an ok easy fix hopefully but some of it needs doing before i can pit pass it and re register it in Tas...
Just sucks coz the guy said it was in pretty mint condition before i went up to buy it..
BUTTTTTTTTTT it will be mint again soon enough ;)
Does anyone have anywhere they suggest to get parts from?
Thanks so much for the welcome guys xxx

Welcome to the club!

I can probably help with some parts as I have a shed full. Between those of us that have donor cars on tap, we should be able to sort it all out for you.
