Yea, lower boost but constant boost.

Sound always reminds me of a power drill haha...amazing though.
Never mind the charger, hearing air dumping is the best part IMO.

Re: c3rbera's GPX
I didn't choose the FTO life...the FTO life chose me.
So today was for painting brake calipers and my car wouldn't start. Coincidence is a funny thing, luckily Kiz was around so we began the epic process of diagnostics...
Repco did a free cell check, and it turns out the battery needed replacing, so maybe it wasn't the alternator.
The cool idea of having it replaced under warranty from RAA was thrown out the window when they turned up and said the warranty is void unless I had a reciept for the thing (bastards!). Then things got interesting when he told us the battery is dead, the alternator isn't charging, but also that there's a constant 700 milliamp draw from somewhere in the car (equivalent to an internal light). So something must be shorting.
My voltgauge had been reading 11V for a couple of weeks so I was at least prepared for problems.
But now couldn't have been a worse time. Alas, we carry on.
The battery is charging so we should have enough to start the car up tomorrow and at least unblock my Grandad's car that's in front of mine.
I'll book it in to have it checked, the shorting sourced, and go from there. Anywhere I get stuck I'll have RAA jump it. End of financial year payout just came...I think we know where that one's going.

Yea i'm doubtful about a drain also, checked a few common things but no issues there. But yea, RAA guy was a twat so yea, wasn't prepared to listen to everything he saidvipfto wrote:Meh done it once or a thousand times. Also doubt any drain most likey something very simple if so
Hopefully the battery charger will get you over the line until it can be fixed

Re: c3rbera's GPX
Drain was from the alternator, a full 3 amps too!
Anyway, they wanted 3k to fix it or about 500 for an alternator so I politely told them to shove it. They weren't interested in reconditioning.
Found one for 375 on the net, seems reasonable...
Definitely works.

Completely understandable, I'll be fine haha. I'm just sorry about the timing for you honestly, I know the whole thing is a pain in the butt.vipfto wrote:Happy to fix up for ya but in two weeks sorry

Really? Wow...well I'll never need it haha. There's 2 identical cables though, wonder how the other works...Lawso wrote:Really late reply, but that mystery cable on page 1 was for the factory 6 stacker CD changer to the back of the head unit had one in "Lawso the 2nd"

Yep...3000 big ones, bjk they're on Sturt rd if you ever want work done.
Huh...well that solves the mystery of the mystery cables haha.
Okay next noob question, to install a rear strut brace, with coilies the nuts are still safe to take off...right?

Yes, while the car is on the ground it's fine. Just undo the nuts and install. Arrived in good order I assume Rose?c3rbera wrote:Okay next noob question, to install a rear strut brace, with coilies the nuts are still safe to take off...right?

Re: c3rbera's GPX
Car's on a bit of a slope but still on the ground. And yes, but I got a call yesterday asking why my address doesn't exist! They tried sending it somewhere else but they fixed it so all is well, even if my name was Rose lol.
The thing's in one piece. They did good.
