PHIL069's Rant :(

Post by PHIL069 »

I need to rant off my current problems, I have no-one to talk to here in SA so I am going to rant on the forum.

My misses, Sue, has been told she may have a possable rare 1:1000 cancer in her woman parts by a local doctor. Sue is currently going through a lot of tests to work out her problem.
She has had constant periods for over 2 months, has no energy, is always tired and is starting to get constant head aches.
Blood tests have come up with nothing other than her blood count is 1/3 lower than normal, because she has been expelling so much blood.
She still has to have an ultrasound and a visit to a gynecologist. She may have to have a biopsy too.
The doctor has started her on some meds to try to get her blood count back up. She is a type 1 diabetic too which doesn't help the situation.
We hope it's something other than cancer, but it's not looking promising at the moment.

Sue is talking about life insurance and is very distressed. She is telling me to buy a house even if she is not here....This kind of talking is very hard to deal with.

So, we are trying to put it at the back of our minds and just carry on as per usual but it's not easy.

Moar ranting...
I am not getting any. *tries a joke to lighten the mood*
I can't seem to be able to buy anything for my FTO that I want.
I seem to be pissing poeple off without even trying to or wanting to.

Hopefully it's just something that will pass and my rant is then uncalled for.
Anyway...I have said what I need to.

But...
On a good note, not that it really matters at the moment...

We are debt free and have $1000's of dollars in the bank for the first time in our lives.
We should be able to buy our first home early next year.
I have been nominated for apprentice of the year again, which means I have to put together another portfolio.

Just our luck though, things were looking good for once and now we have to deal with.....

BTW, don't tell Sue I have posted this thread as she doesn't know I have been ranting here.

Thanks bjk.
I still want to come down to Adelaide and meet you all one day.

EDIT: If mods think that this rant is unsuitable for the forum then feel free to remove it.

I'll +1 to that
Hopefully the doctor is a dick for even mentioning the "C" word.

Thanks

Be positive and every thing will get better brother :) Maybe get couple of different doctor's opinion? Some of the doctors thrive on scare tactics without being 100 percent sure through diagnosis.

Feel free to spill your mind here, we are always here to listen :)

    Hey mate,

it sounds like your misses has a similar condition to my cousin. She was in and out of doctors for around 18months trying to find the problem, and has had to have a full hysterectomy to get rid of it. That's not a problem as she's already had children, but the pain and suffering she had to go through first was disgusting.

I really hope it gets better for you and her, as I'd never wish that kind of pain and frustration upon my worst enemies.

    Chin up :)
I'll have an FTO one day... i swear!

    until then:
    1. 2001 Merc-Benz A160 (porta-loo on wheels)
    2. 2007 Peugeot 307 TDi (more fun than you'd expect)
    3. 2009 Mitsubishi Triton Di-D (a monster in its own right)
    4. 1992 Nissan NX Coupe (club car and project car)
    5. 1996 Holden SB Barina - "The Nugget"
    6. 1996 Jeep XJ Cherokee Sport - The Budget Build
    7. 2010 Toyota Landcruiser 76 Series - V8 Goodness... - Build coming soon.
    8. 1990 Audi 90 manual - The delightfully dignified daily driver

That doesn't sound like a very pleasant journey, but I guess even that would be better than no cure.

We went out to the Crystal Brook Show today, it was good to see my family on a happy day out. Steven got to ride the quad bikes and came away from the experience with the biggest smile on his face. It did wear Sue out though, she is in bed resting now.

This is not good to hear Phil, I hope it turns out to be a false alarm and something easily treated.

Def get additional opinions though. And do your own research and try to find someone that specialises for a better diagnosis.

    Thanks guys.
The diagnosis isn't complete yet, still have to have an ultrasound and see the gynecologist.
The idea of worst case has just been put into our heads and that just makes it harder to deal with at the moment.
Fingers crossed that it is a false alarm, my shout for a case of champagne at the bonfire if it is, your shout for a case of Jim if it isn't. Deal?

    An update...

    Good news...
    98% no cancer

    Bad news...
Sue has to go for an operation. She has to get her inner girl parts microwaved and destroyed, one step short of having them removed. She has to get her tubes clipped, with Titanium 8) , as it is too dangerous to fall pregnant after the procedure. They will also test for cancer after the procedure.
Operation will be in the next 4 weeks sometime. She has to have a general anestetic, ie put to sleep for the operation.

    Worse news...
I still won't get any for months :(

    Better news...
When I do get some again she can't fall pregnant.
