Got the cooler in, pipes through, relocation kit mounted and piped up but I cannot for the life of me get the pipes to hook up to the oil filter adapter with the thicker rad and both fans in

Shane.

Just going to ask if these are normal thread not reverse?

Im going to have to loosen them all and try and see if i can fit it up without one of the angled bits.

Its just not clearing my rad and fans.

As far as I know they're just normal threads from memory. They won't be super tight.

Definitely connect your hoses to the adapter first, then the oil cooler last. Sounds like you might need different fittings on the adapter and/or get new hoses made up.

Must be a very thick radiator? Why do you need a bigger radiator in an FTO? These things don't overheat.

Sounds like some bright spark was using water instead of coolant?

Mine hasn't overheated...I don't have that shroud thingy or a slam panel to direct the air properly either...

Same here, no under-shielding, or panels etc.
Although did notice a slight temp decrease when I went to Dwain's front bar.

I have slam panel, dstocks bar, plastic mouth and a big rad :D

Its be awesome if I had this oil cooler hooked up as well. It sits directly behind the number plate box on dstocks bar so u can even see it.

You never should mount an oil cooler with inlet and outlet face down. The oil does flow to the top of the cooler, causing air to be trapped at the top which essentially causes the cooler not to do its job.

It's either inlet/outlet at top or cooler mounted sideways with the inlet at the bottom which makes the oil fill the cooler to the very top before exiting the oil cooler, just like mounting with the inlet/outlet at the top.

Refer to below. This applies to most coolers, but not the ones that use piping instead of fins.

Yep, aware of that theory, but in practice it does fill up and it does still do it's job.
Yes I have tested the temp before and after with a pyrometer.

:lol: don't listen to every silly c**t on the Internet. Test it yourself if you don't believe me.

I ran it like that on my racecar for 3 years never had a problem. You think I would have continued to run it upside down if it was causing problems :lol:

And just for the record, the reason I ran it upside down was primarily for easy drainage during oil changes, and secondarily because it was easier to fit the hoses in that position.
