Hey guys,
Will be going up to Queensland in late Nov./Dec. this year (I know it's probably fairly late to book but it was only recently decided) and was wondering if anyone knew of good accommodation and places to stay for a decent price. We're going up to go to all the theme parks over a week or so and I have no idea about the area
Are there any cheap but decent places that are fairly close to the theme parks that we could stay at for a week? (no, this isn't a hint at stealing someone's lounge for a week - but would be keen for a meet up one of the days)

Not sure on the accommodation but while your up here you could take your boot home with you if you have room, Also very keen for a meetup.

We could have a BBQ or something. Can't spend toooo much time away from the Missus, it's her birthday present
Will probably be in the Camry with a boot and backseat full of crap but I'm sure we can sort something out.

I love the Q1. It's the only place I stay. The rooms are fantastic, and the prices are fairly decent for what you get comparatively.
You get an extra 10% discount if you book through Facebook.

you can always book through lastminute.com.au or wotif.com; or something similar. Just look for something on the Gold Coast. I've always booked through them, generally the secret deals aren't too bad, especially if it's just the two of you (most of the secret deals are for twin share/double).
Or maybe Sea World resort? not the cheapest or the best, but if you're planning on going to Sea World anyway, they generally have a deal that includes entry to Sea World.
Yeah mate, keen for a meet up too. BBQ and a drive would be good.

Haha. Thanks guys.
We booked today - driving to Coffs on the 6th December, staying the night there then driving to just north of the Gold Coast (near Labrador) and staying in a 4.5 star hotel for 7 nights, then driving back to Coffs, staying the night there and driving back the following day (16th)
We will have a bit of extra time which I will use to pick up my boot from vanadanadananite so might see if I can get away with having a BBQ or something with everyone without getting into trouble with Mrs. 2019
